This is my second biolite headlamp. I had to send the first one back because it wouldn't work after the first time I recharged. Now my second one isn't working either after the first recharge. After unlocking it all I can get is a flash of red light. The battery life is great, but that's why it has taken me so long to find out that it won't work after the first recharge.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The Biolite headlamp 330 is lightweight, comfortable and adjustable.
The multi-click mode switching takes a little practice.
The single greatest opportunity (weak point) is the aging micro USB charging port. If this were to be updated to USB C it would be a truly standout product and THE go-to headlamp for backpackers/campers.

Doesn’t work after one use

Very disappointed. It worked once for a backpacking trip and I loved it. Very comfortable, very bright. But I just took it with me this weekend to another backpacking trip and it is completely non-functioning. It is 100% charged the lock is off according to the instructions and it just won’t turn on. I press the on button and the battery pack responds by showing me the battery level but the light
never turns on. So I was stuck up on a mountain with no headlamp for an entire weekend. I’ve owned many different headlamps by many different brands and I’ve never had this happen. I’ve lost any confidence I previously had in this brand of headlamp. Biolite, please fix this and I’ll update my review.

Great little headlamp, I have 3 now because they’re just so useful. Lightweight too, I did have to have one replaced after getting cleaner in it, so I’m not sure how great they would be in the rain, but I love mine.
