Loved this light... before it died

I love how bright this light is and the tilting feature where you can angle the light down to what you're looking at is amazing, but unfortunately after 3 uses, it wasn't the same. Now the light is very dim and flickers no matter what setting it's on. I used to use it while camping to both prepare meals and get ready for ben in the evening, but it was so dim I couldn't see where things were in my tent and the flickering was getting frustrating. I think I may have gotten a dud since it was so great for the first few uses. It doesn't seem to have a problem charging. Even when fully charged, this issue persists. I'd love to be able to write a 5 star review, but until this problem is fixed, I can't trust this product.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Horrible battery life

I previously posted a review on the weak instructions and the button that operates the light. Now that I have used this headlamp for over a year now, I must add battery life to my list of complaints. I use this lamp to supervise taking my dogs out at night to ensure the desired bathroom duties are achieved. While the lamp works great as long as the battery is charged, I find the battery lasts only about an hour without recharging. I use the flood and spot mode only. The battery should last longer without a recharge. In the wilderness, such a short battery life could be dangerous.
I would recommend this to a friend!

The HeadLamp 330 should last 3.5 hours on high and 40 hours on low when used at or around 70°F - performance of any lithium ion battery, regardless of device, are dictated by temperature. Why would anyone buy a tool with such a short lifespan. After a year or so the head lamp charge becomes shorter and shorter AND will just simply shut off all of a sudden without warning. Do not depend on this headlamp for the trail or camp in the evening or at night over time. So many other headlamps have a way of replacing the rechargeable battery when its time has come. Also this headlamp is the hardest unit to turn on and off that I have ever had. Frustratingly so. It will hurt your knuckle if your finger slips. I have other BioLite products that are working fine but the design of this one is, well, they just simply dropped the ball.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Best for short-term use not multi-day trips

I bought this a few months ago for multi-day overnight hikes and was disappointed that it needed to be charged after the first night as I had no way to charge it. I had it on low and high for only a few hours. The temperature was -10/-15’c, which probably contributed to this. I had high hopes for this headlamp as it is very comfortable and bright, but doesn’t work for hiking/trekking unless you have a way to charge it. I would recommend this for walking or running or one day hikes, which is why I’ve rated it ‘Good’. It’s not that it’s a bad product, it just didn’t suit my outdoor needs. I just wanted to give a heads up for those considering it as a multi-day hike option.
