Good coffee. Worst quality and design

I bought this coffee maker almost 2 years ago thinking it would last for long time. Disappointed. After a couple of months, the plastic top knob broke. It is made of cheap plastic that brakes easily after open the super tight percolator lid. I managed to replace it with a glass knob that you get online with a metal rim (not like the original plastic rim). BUT today, the cheap plastic handle broke. It is a poor design. I was thinking to replace the handle but I discovered that the metal where you screw the handle is also broken. A broken metal???? Please, quality and design. How are you suppose to lift a heavy pot with such a weak metal that supports a plastic handle????

Good quality except for the lid knob/view glass

When I received this item, there was broken glass outside of the plastic bag that the percolator was wrapped in but inside the box. Strange. Upon opening I noticed that the lid knb/view glass was broken on the inside and there were a few pieces of glass inside the pot. This is worrisome because one must pull on this glass knob to open the tightly fitting lid. If the glass knob were to break at this point, one would have some good lacerations on their fingers. This is poor engineering and quality control by foreign companies. I have seen this problem reported in several other reviews.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great, except for one thing

After fooling around with electric drip makers for decades, I decided to go back to the way we did it in Boy Scouts and camping. So glad I did, but wish I had done it sooner. But I digress. I like the coffee it makes, and perfectly happy with the overall construction of the pot, except for, you guessed it, the knob / window in the top. After only a couple of months of weekends only use, it broke! Somebody in design didn't do their homework. I mean it just broke. Wasn't dropped, hammered, or run through a stone crusher, it just broke. This can't cost a lot to make, so maybe a spare should be included unless the design is changed to make it more robust. I'll buy a couple replaements though so I can return to coffee Nirvana at some inflated price.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Aluminum ?

Does it have any aluminum parts? Is it 100% stainless steel ? Because the interior feels very much like aluminum and the outer shell actually feels like stainless steel. Because aluminum gives the coffee a metallic taste
Is there an aluminum nut inside the at the base that comes in contact with the coffee?
Is the filter basket stainless steel or aluminum?

I love to make fresh coffee. I searched high and low for this pot. Make coffee 3 times a week. But now the plastic top broke now I have to place a piece of tinfoil on top in that spot. I am so disappointed. I had to go to DD lately to get my daily cup of coffee.

Poor quality

Worked great until the clear knob glass piece at the top broke leaving the percolator useless. I’ve noticed farberware will comment on this problem saying “Your experience certainly is unusual, especially if following the use and care instructions included with your product packaging.” But when every review mentions this problem I would say it’s not unusual and is more of farberware problem than a use and care instructions problem. I would look elsewhere.

Built to last like any good percolator should be. It's my daily driver and I've used it for traveling, camping, and power outages. I really love that I can thoroughly clean a percolator unlike a machine. My recommendation is to buy the extra OEM plastic view top shortly after purchasing since I did shatter it once and it took a couple of weeks to get a replacement
