[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This laptop exceeds expectations. Fast. Sharp screen. Sound is magnificent. And being able to switch to tablet makes life easy.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I found one of these for what I thought was a good deal on the outlet site, but discovered why they had stock of these when more desirable laptops were sold out. Mine had the i5-1145G7, which I would think would generate less heat than the i7 models. Even so, with the aluminum body that acted as a heatsink, this was way too hot to have on my lap, where LAPtops tend to go when you're away from the desk. The vent being at the back/middle compounds this issue. If you try to hold this as a tablet from the hinge side, you've got your hand by the heat and potentially obstructing airflow. If it's resting on your leg, it further concentrates the heat where you don't want it.
A lot of this is actually not Lenovo's fault. Intel, in a rush to stay competitive, pushed more power into their chips to increase performance, but that comes with heat. Lenovo could have also chosen to limit the wattage delivered in this laptop, and it appears they should have. With a convertible device, I'd imagine it's quite an engineering challenge, but if the back-middle vent was the best they could do, maybe the device shouldn't have been produced at all.
Coming from other Thinkpad keyboards, the ergonomics on this were also terrible. Due to it being a convertible, they made the keys *and* the TrackPoint buttons flat. This destroys the feel of the keyboard and the position/flatness of the buttons makes the normally-wonderful TP experience unbearable.
I've enthusiastically switched to a T14 Gen 2 AMD. It has better thermal management and the heat that is produced is vented out the right side. Do yourself a favor and avoidt this and any other 11th gen Intel devices unless you *really* need Thunderbolt support and a modern cpu.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Been wanting a yoga for several years, waited till I got tired of fixing my T410 and finally bit the bullet! It's a great pc, I haven't had any problems out of it.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Good quality build. Happy with the purchase and value for cost. The inbuilt pen is not the most comfortable if you plan to use it long writing sessions.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It was a great purchase. My granddaughter is thrilled with it and is looking forward to using it at Univ. of Virginia in the engineering school.

I have the model with the i7-1185G7 CPU, UHD+ display, 32 GB memory, 4G LTE, and I upgraded the SSD from 256 GB to 2 TB myself. It’s a nice laptop, but with some enormous flaws. First of all, the amount of backlight bleed at the bottom of the display is quite frankly scandalous for any laptop, let alone one this expensive. It’s not noticeable in everyday use, but is mightily annoying when watching a movie for instance. The glossy screen is also quite reflective, but I knew what I was getting. Next, the keyboard is atrocious. I’ve had ThinkPads since the mid-90s and every new model under Lenovo has had a keyboard a little worse than before. Well, now they’ve reached the point where the keyboard is about equal to the competition, I can think of any number of other laptops with similar quality keyboards. It’s a shame. The battery life is not impressive either (but you may get better mileage with an FHD+ screen). Finally, this thing is quite porky at 3.2 lb according to my scale. Consequently, using it in tablet mode is extremely impractical (not so much because of the 14-inch size but because of the weight), I’m having second thoughts about buying this model versus the non-Yoga X1 Carbon Gen 9.
I’m also bemused that getting a model with 32 GB or memory and WWAN is a custom-built configuration in the US and consequently has a long wait. It’s a no no-brainer configuration and is available in other markets.
I’m not unhappy with this laptop despite my harsh criticism of it. But it has convinced me that there’s no reasons to stick with ThinkPads anymore and my next laptop may well not be a ThinkPad. I can get a similar keyboard, specs, and build quality elsewhere.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Ordering experience was straightforward and easy. Laptop arrived quickly, earlier than promised. Very happy with the build quality, speed, and battery life. I had severe screen flickering problems in the first couple of hours after first boot up but installing the latest device drivers from Microsoft Update fixed that problem and everything has been fine since.
