Don’t skimp in the kitchen!!

I’ve lived my life buying the cheapest things for the kitchen. I’ve grown frustrated several times with tools/appliances not working. This was the first expensive kitchen item I’ve bought and I’ve already started replacing everything I can with simplehuman products. They are simple kind of pricey but work 100x better than their counterparts. Do yourself a favor and buy simplehuman products.

I liked the old sensor can much better. Its shape and size were ideal. The metal skin is too thin and weak. I dropped a salad dressing bottle from 18 inches above and the lid has a big dent. Is the lid replaceable? Our family has dropped jars and cans 3 feet over the Frigidaire range and it did not dent! Our Panisonic microwave also has a thicker, sturdy metal skin. The power cable is too short. I had to buy and extension cord. The lid looks loose. The prior models lid fit tightly and even had a carbon air filter.

The quality is exceptional, will obey voice command and unlike other trash can with sensors that will close before you even threw away your refuse, this one will stay open until you move away. It's those little things that make a product from great to exceptional!

It's just ok

I thought a new one would cut down on false opening. It doesn't, also I got the white can and the paint is uneven, very light in spots. It also closes louder than previous model, thump every time.

I love my new trash can. The white blends so much better than stainless. It’s surprisingly larger than I expected. Only drawback would be that I can can’t place it flush to the wall due to the trash bag storage compartment.
