I have had a simple human rectangular trash can for years and love the look and style. I wanted to upgrade to the voice/hands free.
It is slightly lager than my black stainless foot pedal trash can which is ok. The black matte is pretty, however, DEFINITELY NOT as pretty as the black stainless.
Mainly, however, the operation of the trash can is unreliable. It fails to respond to a voice request-even when speaking Very, very loudly. It also fails to open at times while you sit there waiving your trash filled hands. Batteries are brand new-trash can is less than 30 days old. Not at all what I expected with the price tag or reputation of a Simple Human product.

Super awesome. Love the options and room it provides. While the garbage is shut you can't smell anything. But, once it opens, wooow. I try to tie up really stinky stuff in a grocery bag before tossing. But, some stuff. We just take the garbage out before full.

Best trash can I've ever owned

We purchased this trash can to keep our dog from raiding the trash in the kitchen after we go to bed- it's worked out great! I thought it was expensive for a trash can, and it is, but the matte black looks beautiful in our kitchen and it looks high quality- the surface is SO much easier to keep clean than our old stainless steel can. The inside of the trash can is also SO easy to keep clean (great design), I love having access to brand new bags as soon as the old one is removed and the bags are great quality- nice and thick and the odor control just with the bags alone is impressive. I love that there is a QR code on the inside lid to scan when you need more bags. I never thought I'd like a trash can so much.

Simple Human Can

We are so pleased with our new 58 L can! The electric option is wonderful and saves on batteries. The only drawback is that our smooth collie can open it with her nose!
