Perfect for Trimming Grass Around Trees and Shrubs

Exactly what I needed. Nice and quiet. I especially like how the mower automatically increases power when going through thicker grass, then decreases power in the lighter grass, saving charge time. I can easily hang it up on the wall, saving space in my garden shed.

Thick grass is major challenge

I have used this mower now about 5 times since I purchased it in February. It has worked pretty well up to now that we are in summer full on. This mower even with the auto speed increase cannot handle thick and especially wet grass. I have areas over my septic system which produce a very nice thick and comfortable grass area of about 200 sq ft. When the mower hits this area it kicks into “2nd” gear and bogs down. As a result the battery will not last long enough to even do this section. So I have to stop and put the battery back on a charger and try again. It takes at least two and today 3 battery charges to get thru the area. Quite frustrating. I bought the mower because I have a relatively small lot and when it works I can be done in less than 40 minutes. But having to go over the thick grass at least 2 times adds to the time. This mower just does not have the power to get through the grass. I have now raised the blade as high as I can and will have to increase mows to 2 times per week rather than one. I will also have to buy another battery so I can finish the job in one afternoon.

Surprisingly powerful

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had this mower for about a month now and I must say I was really surprised at its power. I wasn't expecting a lot from a battery powered mower but I wanted something that was easy and I wouldn't have to worry about dealing with gas. Out of the box it was really easy to assemble and charge the battery. The next day I tested it out in my yard and was pleasantly surprised. It didn't struggle at all and my grass was about 3" tall at the time and kind of wet. This mower cut right through it with no problems at all. The battery stayed charged the whole time. My yard is a small/medium size, in my opinion. I have mowed it twice since and still works just as good as the first time. I do recommend this mower to anyone looking for an easy, reliable way to cut their grass.

Decent mower

In that case the mower might stop and you will need to wait some time before you can start it again. Overall all is very easy to use, has no issue in cutting grass if grass is thin and is very light.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a small yard, and this has been absolutely perfect for it. We're on about a quarter acre, with lots of little areas that need mowing. This is so easy to maneuver, it's light enough to pick up, and it stores easily in our little shed. The battery lasts through a whole mowing session, and charged fasts. So far Ive mostly used to mulch tons of leaves (we have 20+ trees on that 1/4 acre) but it plowed through a little bed of weeds with ease too.

Easy to Assemble, Lightweight to Use

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Sun Joe Cordless Brushless Lawn Mower Kit was very easy to assemble. It consisted of screwing 1 screw on each side of the mower to attach the lower handles, attaching 1 nut and bolt on each side to attach the upper and lower handles together, snapping 2 clips on the handles to hold the wire and inserting the pole into the bag and clipping it on to the mower. It took me approximately 10 mins to read and assemble the products. The battery has a button on it that allows you to know how much power it has so once I knew it was charged I inserted it into the mower, along with the safety key, and pressed the button while simultaneously pressing the lever in and she lit right up. This mower is so lightweight I can use it one handed. But that is not to say it doesn't do a good job because it absolutely does a great job. I had no issues cutting my yard. It shredded the grass and leaves and the bag did a perfect job of catching the cuttings. It is more narrow than I am used to so it will take me longer to do my yard, but the convenience of it being battery powered, smaller (easier to store) and lightweight makes the bit of extra time totally worth it. It is made of plastic, but as long as it is taken care of there is no issue with that. The blade has three different levels and it includes the tool to replace the blade when needed. The only issue I have is I think the wheels could be better or maybe have a bit of rubber on them to give a better grip on the ground, but overall I am very pleased with this lawn mower.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wow this changed my life!! This is so easy to push and steer around my yard. The push mower I used to use is so heavy no I can mow the lawn myself. It does a great job cutting the charge lasted longer than i expected but looking into getting a backup battery. It recharged fairly quick so no problems getting finished. This mower has changed my life with my outside chores!!
