major manufacturing problem

I recd this as a present, I was excited to try it. After putting it together and charging the battery I went to cut a few branches. After cutting 6 or 7 branches the whole chain and bar assembly broke off. There is only 1 stud that is bolted to the plastic housing that holds the chain and bar to the saw. This stud is bolted to the motor housing which then supports the bar. I found on the replacement saw that the housing was cracked, this must have happen at the factory.
I believe that this was the cause of failure on my first saw also. So I can not recommend this saw because of this major flaw. I think this problem has existed for a long time since I found another review stating the same problem over a year ago. I do believe that their customer service has been very good and has responded quickly. But unfortunately the saw is not very good

My husbands favorite new “toy”!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We got a Sun Joe 2V-PS8-LTE24-Volt iON+ Cordless Telescoping Pole Chainsaw Kit | 8-inch | W/2.0-Ah Battery and Charger, last week. The chainsaw is very easy to assemble, lightweight and comfortable to use. It is a good size for a small garden and handy with the extended pole. The battery has 40 minutes of run time which lasted well while trimming the branches of our tree. The telescoping pole extends to a good length. It would have be nice to have a shorter pole for smaller bushes or minor branches. Overall a great chainsaw that will be well used around our garden!

Disappointing - Plastic Disintegrated

I’ve purchased many, many Sun Joe products and my last two purchases, including this one, is most disappointing. On first use, within 5 minutes, the internal plastic broke into pieces.

No ladder needed when trimming higher trees!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My husband loves this Sun Joe Chainsaw with Telescoping Pole! We have quite a few high trees in our yard that seem to be attacked by caterpillars, and I do not like when he is climbing the ladder all day. This chainsaw has made his life easier and safer to get to those trees without climbing and being out in the hot sun too long. The battery seems to last fairly long, as he has been out there over two hours at times. When he is done he just charges it up for the next time. This is going to be used quite a bit in our yard!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this pole chainsaw as a way to tame my highly overgrown yard. What a neat setup! As someone who is somewhat smaller and definitely intimidated by chainsaws, this was something I was a little hesitant to use. However, this setup made me completely comfortable using a chainsaw. Setting the chainsaw up was literally a snap: there are two pieces (minus the battery) to click together, pour in the provided chainsaw oil, and it’s ready to go! Use is also extremely easy, and in my opinion this machine is very safe to operate. The head of the saw tilts to 15 or 30 degrees with the press of two buttons, and the secure latch on the pole can adjust the length of the saw to your comfort or necessary height. Just like most powered lawn equipment, there is also a safety that needs to be pressed, making it safe to operate. I have found that this saw is powerful enough to complete the jobs I have with a manageable power level and very little kickback. The battery life is long enough for me to complete at least a few trees (with significant pruning) at a time. Overall, a great product. Congratulations, Sun Joe, on converting someone who would normally be extremely reluctant to use a product like this. Highly recommended!

Used this to prune, to clear out small small trees and some underbrush. Plenty of power for this type of work. This is a great tool to own.

okay product

I bought this saw to cut down several limbs around my home. It is an ok saw not the greatest of saws. The major issue with this saw was the chain kept popping off, The chain cover has a gap in it when you tighten the bolt, and the black covering around the pole handle started to split in half. Would I recommend this product probably not, there are better saws out there. it is an ok saw not the greatest. Tried using it again and the chain still pops off

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a lightweight saw. Its easy to assemble and takes 80 minutes to charge for 40 minutes of use. The quality of the overall product is alright but I don't see it lasting very long. The craftsmanship is not of a high standard. My first project it has worked well.
