pole saw failure

when cutting limbs , saw bounces all over limb. can not control saw. its seems to light to cut limb. tried to control saw but failed. do not buy saw.

I bought one perhaps 2 or 3 years ago and used it often to cut trees and branches since I have over 3 acres of lots.
I rated it 5 stars, because charge, plug in, add lubricant oil and go, no hassle. I have a gas chain saw, but I will consider using this Cordless saw before my gas chain saw.
If this cordless saw can be converted into a chain saw it will be perfect, it seems the handle bar is long.

powerful trimmer with great portability

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love Sun Joe Products. They make excellent cordless and electric tools that do a Great job. This Chainsaw is no exception. It is well put together, balanced and makes short work of branches up to 13 feet away from the trigger! The head is able to angle for tricky cuts. The included strap helps when you are extending overhead to take some of the weight of the saw. The average battery charge time has been about 3 hours. The only issue I have with this chainsaw is the battery charge system. The battery does not stop charging automatically. If the charging battery was left unattended, this could cause possible damage to itself and even could explode or catch on fire. Pay close attention to the manual and follow all directions to prevent any issues. This is a solid backup to my chainsaw and makes pruning way easier!

Works great

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So I got this because I thought it would be easier for me to trim branches and such. Honestly it came at a perfect time as we had a storm come through and knock down some trees. It really worked great. It handled much bigger limbs then I thought it would and made quick work of the clean up. I only have 1 issue with it. The little screw and plate that hold the chain in place kept loosening as you work so as long as you take a second and tighten it then it works amazing. We only had the chain come off once before we knew that was happening and it was easy to get it back on. I thought the battery lasted for plenty of time to get what i needed done. It also has a strap to help with the weight of it. It is heavier then I thought it would be but the strap does help. I also like that you can adjust the angel of the saw a little to reach those branches better. Overall I am pretty happy with this.

Great for small or quick jobs

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We used our Sun Joe cordless pole chain saw to cut a few branches from some overgrown trees. We are very impressed with how quickly and efficiently this cordless pole chain saw works!
It took just a few minutes from unpacking the chain saw and putting it together. We followed the instructions on how to install the saw chain and we are pleased that Sun Joe set the zip tie in place in order to make the assembly so easy! We’ve had many saws over the years and Sun Joes was the easiest!
We were a little disappointed that the chain saw package didn’t include any bar and chain oil but we had some in the garage from previous equipment that required it, so not a huge deal.
The Sun Joe pole chain saw cuts smaller branches like a dream! It’s not too loud and the vibration is pretty minimal. I believe this is due to using a battery versus plugged in for more power. I wouldn’t try to cut large branches with the cordless chain saw as it drains the battery pretty quickly.
The battery is the only complaint I have with this chain saw. We knew the battery wasn’t going to last for hours so we divided up the saw needs between two different saws. The Sun Joe cordless chain saw gave us about 15 minutes of sawing before the battery died. That was a little disappointing as we had hoped to finish a bigger section with this chain saw. The battery takes about 5 hours to charge so it’s not as efficient as we had hoped for our chain saw needs. BUT it’s great for a quick clean up or small jobs!
Overall we are pretty pleased with the Sun Joe cordless pole chain saw.

Easy to use

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I found this tool very easy to use. I was concerned about the whole concept of having a chainsaw on the end of a stick, but it's small enough to get in between branches, and pulls the chain at just the right speed to cut well, but not feel like it's going to kick. I was trimming an old peach tree, which is in its final years, and was cutting through 2"-3" diameter branches at the full extension. It cut easily and quickly, never feeling like it was out of control. A much easier job than with steps and a saw, for sure.
The chain was a little fiddly to fit, but the locking and tensioning mechanism is fairly easy to use. You do need chain oil, and none is provided in the box - at least not with mine, but there was no mention of oil being provided - so you'll need to get some before running the saw. The oil reservoir has a gauge on the side, but I couldn't see where the oil level was, and ended up with a mess when it overflowed.
It comes with a hard plastic cover for the saw, so it can be stored safely without risk of catching yourself on the chain. The battery was smaller than I expected, but it keeps the weight down and lasted well with sufficient cutting power for the job I've used it for so far. Overall, it's a decent tool.

Adequate Power!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This pole saw is pretty cool! I was skeptical at first, with it being electric but it made a believer out of me real quick! It comes disassembled in the box, but the setup is pretty basic. All of the instructions are included in the box also. It was as easy as sliding the chain on the bar, fitting the screw housing over the nut and tightening the chain to the correct tension by spinning the knob. The knob has "tighten"/"loosen" on it also to deter confusion also. I cut down a few small diameter trees and branches with no problem. I'm looking forward to see how well it does with bigger branches. There is also a button that you press that allows the saw to be in a 45° angle if desired. The only thing I would warn is, it doesn't come with bar oil so if you get this saw, grab some bar oil while you're there. All in all, I'm happy with it's performance so far.
