13 Preset Programs

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Aqua Joe 2-Zone Electronic Water Timer takes water from one faucet and allows that water to be provided to two different locations (two hoses required) or two separate starting times with the dual timers. The timer runs on 2 AA batteries, so you will have to watch the battery capacity marker on the digital front display. Setting up the timer is very easy. Install 2 batteries, close the battery door all the way, to make sure the seal on the door closes, so no water enters the battery compartment. Set the current time using the + and - buttons. Press the "water drop" button to set the watering frequency. There are 7 possible settings for watering frequency (1= once a day, 2= once every two days, etc.) Then you get to set the water cycle on the preset time dials for each timer setting. Then turn on the water, and the water will start flowing when the correct time is reached on each of the timer settings. This is an easy to use timer with various presets, yet I would like more flexibility with the intervals and time settings, so it fits my schedule for watering, and the manufacturer's determined settings. What if I don't want to water at 6am, 7am, 6pm or 7pm? And what if I want to water the same location three times per day for 5 minutes, instead of the 15, 30 or 60 minute presets? There is little flexibility on intervals and time settings, which is why I took off one star from my review. Overall, it appears to be a solidly made and easy to program timer. I would just like more flexibility instead of 13 factory presets.

Does the job and then some

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Really happy with this water timer. The fact that it has 2 spigots is extremely helpful. I have one hooked up to a drip irrigation system in our yard for all our plants in planter boxes. Then I use the other spigot for regular hose use. But you can program it as well if you want two differently zoned areas. It's easy to program - just a dial that's clearly marked and a LCD screen. Remember you need 2 AA batteries. The screen does tell you when they are low to change them, which is nice. Could it be better? Hopefully one day there will be a smart version that talks to the local weather to turn itself off on rainy days or freezes. But otherwise, for the money, this is as good as it gets in my opinion.

Terrific

Love the pre set options, can adjust as the weather changes with just a twist of the dial. Am already recommending it to people, my daughter has talked about getting one. She relies on her vegetable garden and this would be perfect.

Akward to use

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Only has 4 times to use: 6am or 7am or 6pm or 7pm. And limited time settings at 15-, 30- and 60-minutes. You can change the time, by simply setting it to the "wrong" time. On a positive note, it works great and goes off exactly when set.

Simplified Watering

I can set it to start watering early in the morning so I don’t have to get out of bed to turn on the hose manually. I also like that I can leave the house while part of the lawn is being watered and I don’t have to come home to turn it off. Also helpful for all those times when I would forget I had the sprinkler running and wouldn’t turn it off for hours. It does need 2 AA batteries. This sprinkler timer takes a lot of the work out of having to live without a sprinkler system.

How do you water "up to 12 times a day"?

There is a frequency button, that appears to apply to both connections (so not independent). According to instructions, this frequency determines which days the schedule on the dial is applied. In other words, the settings on the dial are applied every 1 day, every 2 days, every 3 days, etc. The schedule can either be once a day in AM or twice a day in AM and PM. Putting this together, both connections will have the same day schedule. They can be watered either once or twice a day. Putting this together, how do you water "up to 12 times per day"? What am I missing?

Easier Life

I only have one spigot out by my garden, and this water timer allows me to use the timer and still be able to water other things near my garden with the dual faucet connection. I can turn one side off and use the other if I need too.
The timer allows me to sleep in if I want, watering while I sleep, and it's customizable to fit your needs with 13 settings.
Thanks to Aqua Joe, elderly people can take one thing off their list to do during the day, and we're grateful. Excellent product!
