I read about Hugh Jackman and his experience with the coffee grower in Ethopia. I ordered it for our office. It has become our favorite medium roast coffee.
I decided to try this because of the interesting story behind it. I love that its fair trade, and the description of the aromatic notes is accurate. It's a perfect flavor for a Sunday morning while sitting outside listening to the birds~
Brew this at 8oz. Do not make a decision until you have finished the box. This is the type of coffee that one develops a taste for. I drink my coffee with light cream, No sugar. I do not like light blends as they taste watered down. This is a medium brew. I've tried at 6oz and at 10oz. It taste best at 8oz. I prefer this in the afternoon/evening. It does not taste the same to me in the morning. You will develop a taste for Dukale's Blend
I admit, I ordered this coffee the first time because of Hugh Jackman's story. I keep ordering it over and over again because I like it! I hate coffee that is too strong or bitter - this is one smooth, medium roast coffee. Thank you Hugh for bringing this to us!
I was anxious to try this new coffee, but my enthusiasm quickly turned to dissatisfaction with the very first sip. The bitterness was so overwhelming that it masked all elements of the flavor profile as described on the Keurig website. I applaud Hugh Jackman's efforts to better the lives of poor coffee farmers in other regions of the world. I tried several pods of this coffee and perhaps I received a bad batch, but it definitely fell short of expectations. I will give it another try and re-review.
I recently tried this coffee from our local grocery store, and was I PLEASANTLY surprised! It is such a smooth coffee with a hint of sweetness, and it will definitely put a smile on your face! I will definitely continue to buy more, but would love to see it available in the cases of 80.
