Overall, I'd give this trimmer a very good in quality and operation. It arrived with a 1 inch hole in the box but fortunately no damage inside. On inspecting the parts, I found the blade guard was put on upside down. The assembly is easy but follow the directions and make sure the pieces lock in place. The battery needs 4.5 hours to charge and the directions say you can't leave it in the charger once it's charged, so I had to keep watching it - not great! This applies for all charging afterwards too, maybe a limitation of the lithium design.
I found the trimmer did a credible job on my shrubs with the extra reach I needed to get up high. I would have liked the shoulder strap to be farther forward so the trimmer would be better balanced and easier to use, but it's designed to fit on the lower part of the pole, not the extension. I found the trigger lock button and trigger to be easy to use and liked the battery position at the extreme end of the trimmer to help with the balance, unlike some other brands.
Overall, I'm happy with this trimmer.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I generally love Sun Joe products and have used them over the years with good success at a great value. This trimmer works well for the hard to reach trimming you need to do. But it is heavy. Very top heavy and fairly unwieldy. I only have a few areas to tackle and wouldn't want to use it for an extended period of time. It was easy to assemble, has sharp blades and can clean up large areas quickly. I had no issues with the supplied battery and it lasted for the areas I needed to trim with consistent performance throughout the cut. Overall another good Sun Joe product. Just be prepared to get a workout and consider something different if the weight may be an issue for you.
