it's really designed for a younger person. I mean the theory is sound. If I was still 35, it would be just what the doctor ordered. Unfortunately, the top heavy blade section really strains your back and forearms. Too bad, because it was a snap to put together and the multi angled blade is a great idea....really nice product but just too rough to handle for more than a few minutes at a time.

Only beef is the plastic green housing where the extensions meet has already cracked. Too tuff to send it back for a replacement and working on trying to glue the crack.

Medium use about 4 times in 2-3 years, internal gear broke, could be replaced but told by sunjoe that no internal replacement parts made, so if it quits you can not fix, kind of a 1 and done, last purchase of a sunjoe product by myself and hopefully at least the rest of my family, let the buyer beware ps tried several nicknames all taken, upset, disgruntled, not happy, junk,trash

Does a great job for my 10 foot high hedge. When you first use it, don't just jump right into the job. Stand in a clear space to get a feel for control and always use the strap. The strap length adjustment seems pretty good right out of the box. Once you get the hang of it practice small areas first and by the end of the first job you will be a real pro. I walk the length of the hedge chopping off the tops and then go back over the hedge standing in place making a circular motion over the hedge where it is not safe to walk. Very easy doing the sides with a sweeping up and down motion.

Useful for trimming sides of high cedar hedges without need for stepladder and the shoulder strap helped to support the trimmer for this type of vertical cutting. Was useful to have the extendable pole for also reaching horizontally across the top of a hedge where a regular sized trimmer was not long enough. However, the weight of the trimmer head made it difficult to use when reaching horizontally - perhaps another attachment point for the shoulder strap closer to the trimmer head would help support the trimmer better when used horizontally. I was satisfied with this purchase and it did what I was wanting it for - extra reach - both vertically and horizontally.

I received this Hedge Trimmer for my birthday this month and it is a wonderful tool that really saves you time and effort when trimming your evergreens, shrubs, etc. I used it to trim back some Burning Bush shrubs that were encroaching into my back yard from my neighbors property and this tool allowed me to do a full trim back on the shrubs in very little time. It allowed me to do all the trimming with my feet on the ground and the reach was great as I got everything trimmed with very little effort. The one thing you have to be sure of is to first read the instructions as you need to apply some light oil to the cutter blades and that is important as it cuts speedily and be sure you have a good grip before powering it on. I am a Senior Citizen and I used the strap in the tool as it helped me balance it real easy while trimming. I really like this as now I do not have to take out a ladder and use me hand trimmers anymore. Great product even if you need to use once a year. It does a great trim job on my Cedar Evergreens too.

The trimmer accomplished everything i expected, not only at my permanent home, but we have a vacation home with some vey high hedges where it performed like a charm. Being an electric telescoping pole trimmer, that doesn't use gas, it was easy to transport. No concerns about spills, and having quite a lot of hedges to trim, no batteries to charge is also a big plus. Most of my hedges are deep nearly 5 feet, i breezed thru them with more then adequate power. In fact the only negative is it's a little heavy for me. But I decided to start working out again to eliminate the weight of the trimmer as a drawback.
