The product is very good for trimming tall bushes and the back of hard to reach hedges and bushes. The trimmer head adjustments is very helpful for cutting the top of hard to reach hedges and bushes. I have saved a lot of money with this product. I do not have to call my landscaper to trim my tall hedges, with the Sun Joe Trimmer I can reach them myself.
A little on the heavy side, but after a few times using it things seemed more manageable. It is a matter of getting used to how to handle this item. I am going on 76 so I am not a young man. It does a beautiful job on trimming shrubs. I have gotten a number of compliments on how nice and manicured my shrubs look. Easy to order and to do a very minimal amount of assemblage.
Love it works better than my regular trimmer, only down side is the strap needs to be farther out on the pole to help balance the weight better, gets a little heavy
This is a good hedge trimmer, and works well. But it is a bit heavy on the motor end, even with the shoulder strap in use. The only issue I experienced was them showing you the adjustment of the tension device for adjusting the telescoping pole, but they did NOT include any adjusting hex wrench in my SUN JOE retail box that I bnought right from their website. I tried to use my wrench from the SUN JOE telescoping pole chain saw I also bought from SUN JOE, but that hex wrench is too big to fit on the adjusting nut for the hedge trimmer! I had to use a small slip joint pliers to tighten the tension bar nut. Other than that, I am happy with the purchase and the saw. I'm definitely a permanent SUN JOE customer for life now!!!!
Without the pole, the trimmer is relatively easy to use and cuts good. With the pole, it's heavy and cumbersome. The strap provided pulls on neck and is awkward, I put it around my upper torso and that worked a bit better. The parts exchange out without issues. I would suggest SunJoe provide a body strap for this unit that would help balance out using it with the pole.
If you are a senior, I would not order this! With the motor at the end of the pole instead of at the bottom, physics takes over and you find yourself with the weight of the motor pulling your back. It is just too hard to handle for high hedges unless you are trimming straight up. If you are trimming at any sort of angle, it becomes a hazard for those of us who have seen stronger days.
