Unit is not flush with the counter when closed

The unit is designed poorly. It does not lie flat against the counter when it is closed; it needs to have a lip to cover the gap between the top of the unit and the counter . However, the fan does work well.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We are happy to provide clarity regarding your downdraft system. The UVD6301SPSS is designed to mount above the countertop surface rather than flush with it. As a result, when installed next to a flush-mounted cooktop, a visible gap between the cooktop and downdraft vent is expected.

Love this downdraft unit. Only issue is the newer model could. It be vented with my GE gas cooktop so I had to pay extra for a venting specialist

Basic and no frills.

This model was purchased to replace another ge downdraft vent. This model does not flush evenly with the counter top as it has a rubber piece that it rests on when not in use as opposed to metal in the previous model. It did not come with a control pad as the other one did but instead there is a button on the top that turns it on and a knob on the side that adjusts the van. Overall, it is not aesthetically pleasing as the other model. GE appears to have cut corners with this one.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Built Indraft to Telescopic Indraft Fan system

Replacing existing built in indraft Cooktop was not easy!!
GE Universal 30" Telescopic Downdraft System made its possible! Came with proper manuals, detailed instructions for cutouts, Fan outlet directions.
Speed control dial makes it easy to manage the fan speed.

FAN is very powerful, great looks.
