I’m really glad I got this lunch box. My son loves using it and will finish his lunches and snacks. Keeps cold foods cool for hours. Great for picnics and road trips. Its perfectly portioned, I really recommend it.

Mold issues

We had 4 lunch boxes rotating with daily use and washing. All of them eventually and fairly quickly got mold in the seal like several reviews say. Now we’ve got all the interior parts and there doesn’t appear to be a way to replace the outer shell.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Box works great, Mold grows quickly

Boxes work well but we’ve had issues with mold — We hand wash and air dry after each use but mold still “grew” — Only negative.

Great lunch box

Me and my son love the Chill Lunchbox!! I send him fresh cut fruit and veggies and they stay cool till his lunch time. Every day fresh food! Also it comes in different colors love that. Also they have Good warranty with their products!!

Issues with mold

We have used Bentgo boxes for years and were excited this year to find the Bentgo Kids Chill Lunch Box with the ice pack part of the box itself. Our son uses it everyday for school and we hand wash it every day. Unfortunately the rubber seals have been developing mold and no matter how much I try to clean them I can not make them go away. I’ve tried Dawn, I’ve tried white vinegar. I’ve tried soaking it in a mixture of the two and despite our best efforts the mold is starting to spread more and I don’t feel comfortable using this anymore. I am very disappointed because we loved this product and it was perfect for our son’s school lunches and we followed the cleaning instructions and still had issues with mold.

Convenient, Compact, and Fun!

My son has been using his Bentgo for preschool and has loved it. He loves helping to prepare his snack by putting them in the individual sections. It’s great that the tray comes out and that there is an ice pack. It fits in his backpack well with his water bottle, and because it is slim it doesn’t take over the space. I’ve had some confusion how the ice pack works because there is no liquid in it. It is really light so I’ve wondered if it was damaged and missing the fill. It gets cold in the freezer but I’m not sure how long it lasts. When he is home from school after 3 hours, his snack is not chilled. Other concerns have been that it is not the easiest to close, like it’s bursting at the seams. I’ve made sure all the components are snapped in place but it feels like it may burst open, but I have not seen it burst open. I don’t think my son could put it together and close it himself. A small crack developed on the side, I have no idea how. The silicone is not affected so I don’t think the seal is broken. The saddest part is that the silicone inside developed mold under normal use. We wash it by hand everyday after he gets home from school and let it air dry. So I guess it’s moisture from the time it’s prepared and used at school till he gets home that causes it. I still think it is a great product but can’t continue to use with the mold. We have had it about 2 years.
