[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this cutting machine to use for my classroom. As a teacher I have used this machine to make fun crafts and activities for my students. This machine is easy to set up and use. I would definitely recommend it.

It is user friendly and easy to use right out of the box. I've used other brands of cutters and I really like how easy it is to use and absolutely love the touch screen with preloaded designs. There are so many possibilites for projects that can be made using this machine. It cuts well and quickly. The touchscreen responds very well to either the included stylus or my finger. The scan feature is an great addition to the machine. I would definitely recommend this machine to anyone.

I have always wanted to get a cutting machine for crafting. I’m so happy I had the opportunity to test this product. The machine is heavy and seems well made. I love the touchscreen feature. The setup instructions are very clear and easy to understand. I started off with the gift box tutorial that is provided and it was easy to do. There are a lot of preloaded designs to choose from or you can upload your own custom design. The machine is very quiet when running. I can’t wait to make more stuff with this!

So much fun

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My son and I have had so much fun using this Brother ScanNCut! It can do so much more than we thought when we opened the box! It was packed nice and came with everything we needed to get started, it setup very easily on our wifi as well. We started out with a few simple cuts using preloaded designs. We designed and made a few cards to send to Grandma, we cant wait for her to get them! We camt wait to see what else we can make next. I love all the easy to use features and touchscreen. I can't wait to use it with my embroidery machine!

I still have lots to learn from YouTube. I think its going to be a wonderful addition to my crafting.

I love the simplicity of setting it up and the intricacies of the built in designs. I’ve cut fabric, paper, vinyl and thin leather without any problems. The cutting mat took me a little while to get used to, but overall, it’s an extremely simple machine to use with professional results!

The Brother ScanNCut SDX85 Cutting Machine with Scanner, 3.5" LCD Touchscreen is a great product, but I have not have much exposure with it other then playing around to get used to using the machine. I like that it has options to be able to cut out different designs. You can scan images into the system and it will save it itself. The matt was very tacky and hard to get the paper off the matt. I really like that you can cut all different materials on it. I like that the software give you options to download for so many more projects.

LOVE the scan feature!!

Pros: The scan feature is AWESOME and worked perfectly. I cut both HTV and stickers and both turned out perfectly! I'm so excited to be able to use this. It connected to my wifi/computer very easily and I found that easier to use than working directly from the machine's screen (if you need to connect directly to your machine you will need a printer cable that it does not come with). I love that the compartments built into the machine hold the cord & tools. The test cut feature allows you to move the test cut location in case you have a small piece of material or you need to do a second test.
Cons: I struggled to find directions on how to use it and the features. In the end I searched YouTube videos with the style number and what I wanted to do and those were VERY helpful. I would recommend just starting via that route.
Overall: I am so happy with this machine. My previous experience is with a portable cutter that I purchased a PixScan mat for that requires you to use your camera and I was never able to get it to work correctly. Having the scanner built into the machine means I don't have to deal with bad camera angles or trying to get it to upload. The scanner worked perfectly from my first attempt. I did wind up using the vector pen to draw where I wanted my cuts to be on the scan because the self-detecting edge wasn't where I wanted it but I don't mind that a machine can't read my mind. :)
You will also need space to use it. The machine itself is large and you need space in front and behind it for the mat to feed through. Just something to keep in mind when it comes to storing/using it.
