This is a great machine. Very very quiet...have to look at it ti make sure it is cutting, lol. I do not need a lot of features so its perfect for my needs.
My only complaint is not the machine but the mats ... not sticky after three uses!!! Ugh! Please look into a better solution!

I am very pleased with my SDX85
I appreciate the scanner integrated in the machine. It is very helpful to place the pieces of pattern on the fabric to be cut. I can use smaller pieces of fabric like remnants.

Just what I needed!

This machine cuts car protective film with ease! Before I bought it I was making templates of areas I wanted to protect on my bikes and cars using cardstock then transferring them to the film and hand cutting out each shape. Not fun! With the SDX85 I just take a few measurements, design the shapes in CorelDraw, export them to a USB stick and cut them out. Perfect every time. I love it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product for free from Brother in exchange for my honest opinion/review of the product. I am not a pro (yet) when it comes to the scan and cut machines. But, I am learning I have another brand and I can say it can be very overwhelming at times the setup by itself took me well over an hour.
When it came to the setup for the Brother Scan and Cut I found myself cruising smoothly through setup. It was so quick I had set aside a couple of hours to do the setup. I was able to fully explore it plus became familiar with all the various modes. I even did the cute project my favorite color is purple by the way so that was extra kudo points. The machine comes with what I would call a starter pack. The starter pack comes with a cutting mat, a stylus, small spatula, and a blade cartridge. All in a cute plastic envelope that can be easily stored in the machines flip up storage compartment.
I like the fact that I can design and make my own projects. Just by scanning in an image. For now till I get really good at designing my own I will stick with the over 250 built in designs that comes with the Scan and Cut. I like the ease of the flip up built-in LCD touchscreen. You can use the stylus or your fingertip which I want to keep the screen as clean as possible so the stylus comes in handy. I can appreciate the fact that it's not loud at all it didn't disturb my fiance unlike the other brand cut machine that I have. I've taken the time to research blades and I've found that they are for more budget friendly than other brands which is a major plus for me. I am very impressed and I see myself using this Brother Scan and Cut for many more projects to come.

Endless creative possibilities!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product, the ScanNCut SDX85S, for free from Brother in exchange for my honest opinion/review of it, and I'm so happy to share it, because my daughter and I are having SO much fun with it! Its almost endless possibilities for creativity is such a bright spot for us during this crazy and (seemingly endless) time spent indoors. This was easy to set up and hook up to my cellphone. We've been making a lot of cute stickers and cards, and we're planning to make some vinyl transfers to iron on t-shirts this weekend. Seriously, I feel like we'll be learning and discovering new features and ways to use all of the included fun designs for a good long time! I highly recommend this - it's awesome!

Scan N Cut a win-win

My Scan N Cut SDX85 bundle is great!!! I was a little intimidated at first, because up until now, I had only watched Youtube videos on it. However, to my surprise, it was pretty easy to use and fun. Its also alot quieter than I thought it would be! And that xtra long mat that came with it is the exact lenth of my leather!! Also, Ive been doing crafts with my grandson...and now he cant wait to finish his homework so we can "play" with the Scan N Cut. It's a win-win all the way around.

Best Cutting Machine

I have 1 each of other competitor's cutting machines and I can honestly say, this is the best one. I use this machine more than I have the others as this one really meets my needs. Not only can I use it for vinyl and paper crafts, I use it for fabric. I'm a quilter and love this machine for cutting those pesky appliques. Also works well with my in-the-hoop machine embroidery projects.
