Great bottle...until the lid breaks for no reason!

I love this bottle. We have several and I use certain ones for coffee. I love that they really hold their temperature well and that I can lock it and keep it it in my purse without worrying about leaks or the cap opening. Yet it's still easy to drink from. Once, I dropped the bottle and the lid broke. Bummer. Only bottle this happens with--yes, I've dropped other bottles and never had the lid break. But I thought it was a fluke. Since then I've been super careful and another lid broke, for no reason, just gently opening it to take a sip, just yesterday. It hadn't been dropped, no trauma. Yet the little latching part just snapped off when the button was pushed to open the lid. I came here to see about a replacement lid and they're only available in black. But if they are this unreasonably fragile, then what's the point? Really disappointing. Takeya should really figure out a design that allows for locking and easy sipping, and is hearty enough to not break.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

- Fits standard cup holder
- Keeps water cold
- Cleans decently well (though it's a bummer the main part isn't dishwasher safe)

- Top broke upon first drop (from not that high)
- Top is expensive to replace
- Only replacement color is black, which looks pretty awful with an arctic white mug

I really expected an item labeled "Traveler" to be more durable and/or replacement parts to be not that expensive :-(

Watch for the handle ... it breaks easy

I purchased the teal bottle for my daughter as a christmas present for school use. Unfortunately, she dropped the bottle and the carry handle broke off. Since the carry handle is tied into the hinged lid, she can't use the bottle without having to worry of the lid is going to flip open.
I have searched the site for replacement lid but i could only find black. Not the ideal color we want.

I love Takeya products but pass on this one. The lid does not go back far enough and is in your nose. I have a normal to small nose. I bought one for hubby too and he has a larger nose. He’s going to H A T E it. Disappointed

Like all of their other beverage containers, it works perfectly as advertised. It's a no brainer in terms of keeping beverages hot or cold. Again, it does exactly as it is described which is a comfort to me as a coach, player, and just in everyday life. I stay with their products because they last long (if you take decent care of them), and Takeya's customer service (Huge shoutout to Takeya customer service) is solid and genuinely human. The travel mug is convenient for keeping my morning java hot for quite a while. I am a professional certified USPTA tennis instructor and it is nice to have equipment that is reliable over the daily hours and hours that I am on court. Takeya products are extremely important to me in my work, play, and everyday life.

This is a great bottle especially for a kid. The mouth allows the water to go directly into your mouth with less spilling. Only thing is the plastic piece that comes up for carrying is not as strong as others.

Own several Takeya products in different styles and sizes, almost all Blush color. I was thrilled to receive the 17 oz. Traveler for Christmas. Perfect size for traveling with tea in the morning, my others are all too big. Unfortunately my excitement didn't last long. After just a couple of uses the locking tab on the lid snapped off. I'm not even sure how it happened. I do not abuse any of my bottles, or use them daily for that matter. I've never had any issues with any of my other Takeya products. Needless to say, I'm disappointed. I wonder how it would hold up to daily use and abuse from someone tougher than me.

I'm obsessed with finding the best coffee drinking vessels. I own several Takeya products. This is my absolute favorite and IMO the best to-go container I've found. I've also bought them for my 3 kids and I have a spare just in case. The ONLY issue I have with the traveler, which is going to sound ridiculous but these things keep coffee too hot too long. I drink coffee at 130-135 degrees and this will keep it lava hot for hours, I simply open the top or take the lid of for cool down a bit. I need my coffee now!
*PRO-TIP: Order the 14-22oz bumper for your traveler. It's not listed as an accessory but I assure you, it fits. I have them on all five of ours.
