nice inexpensive little toaster

Seems to work well but has little quirks.. I have it for about 10 days now, so no info on dependability,,, but after u cook one set of toast and try to put down a second set it will not lock them down so u have to wait til it cools down ,,kind of silly if u want toast for 2 people..
I would recommend this to a friend!

I drove 40 minutes one way to shop at best buy to get this toaster. Tried it in the morning and would not work at all! Will probably cost me the price of the toaster in gasoline just to return it. Never again...
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I wasn’t looking for a Rolls Royce toaster with AI ;) this is a good toaster, looks good and was less than $40. That’s about what I want to pay for a basic appliance.

Good toaster (so far)

The Hamilton Beach toaster appears to be of better quality than my previous ‘el cheap” toasters, but time will tell if that is indeed the case.
It has several bells and whistles. There are 3 settings, bagel (toast only on sise), single slice, and frozen slice. I don’t believe I will ever use any of the extra settings. It also has a slice centering mechanism to get even toasting. The lifting mechanism allows the user to manually raise the slice so that you can grab it without sticking your fingers inside the toaster slot. It also has a reasonable power cable length. Other than that it is a standard toaster.
I have 2 reservations.
Firstly, I find the a bagel slice frequently gets stuck against one of the sides needing a little manipulation to release the lift mechanism and extract the bagel.
And on a design note, I find the slot on most toasters to be too short. They seem to be designed for the supermarket standard load with a square cross section. I have to cut my semi-specialty slice in half to toast my bread.
