I am not very impressed with this computer but the 4k screen is very good. I have a 3 year old HP with lower specs (AMD) that i use for work and it runs more smoothly. The ThinkPad is very noisy even when the computer is asleep. The computer froze 1 time for about 35-45 seconds. I been using this computer for the past 4 weeks for about 4-6 hours a day and for the price of $1,700 im not that impressed. There are some nice features as far as configuration and the hardware quality feels very good. The finger print recognition works about 65% of the time, its not that fast when performing productivity tasks, and I give it a 3 star rating just because is not that much different then my 3 year old hp work computer.
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] An excelent computer that has proofed itself useful. The only issue is the thermals, they can totally be improved, as well as the speakers.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great laptop, but the hybrid graphics takes way too long to switch. I wound up setting discrete graphics only in the bios. Better, but still some issues. For such an expensive laptop, it should work smoother. Also, the keyboard backlight doesn't come on automatically when you touch a key! With a search there's a workaround for this, but it should be standard.
Lightning fast; smooth startup after the initial "check for updates" windows update completed, and easily dockable. Very happy with this purchase - replacing a long-time desktop and never looking back.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a very powerful and a great looking machine. I got the i9 10th Gen with 32 GB RAM since I will be using this for application development. The keyboard is awesome which is always the case with any of the Thinkpads. The carbon fiber + magnesium body feels robust and great to touch. The screen resolution is amazing! My earlier machine was a Thinkpad P52s and the screen lid would keep falling down under its own weight at a certain angle. The hinges on the X1 Extreme are much better and able to hold the screen at any angle. I was able to run a bunch of high memory and cpu intensive applications side by side without any issue. Its a awesome laptop and I would recommend it to anyone looking to buy a performance laptop.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great laptop. Fast. Setup was easy. Office (which I purchased - home edition) came up for me to use with no downloads, etc.
