The Thinkpand x1 extreme is a great machine. I did bump the specs to max by changing the memory to max (64Gb) and replacing the 1Tb SSD with two 2Tb SSDs. The ultra high def screen is amazing.

The build and materials used are very quality and ergonomic. The battery lasts for what seems like a very long time, even under heavy use.
