I'm very frustrated with several things on this laptop (older models were generally ok).
First, I purchased the computer with MS Office Home and Student ("perpetual license"), but I still get periodic nag pop-ups urging me to subscribe to Office 365. That would be a duplication and waste of money. Lenovo installed Home and Student, why don't they disable the nag?
Second, the camera initially worked with MS Skype. Then the microphone stopped working. Now the mic works, but Windows thinks there is no camera at all. I installed a well-known 3rd-party antivirus + firewall (and basically no other software). The AV might be the cause, but neither company has any solution on the web. I'm an experienced software engineer and I've tried a number of things to no avail. BTW, I would have preferred a model with no camera at all, but instead I get an unusable one.
Lastly, you have to "pull open the mouth" of the Ethernet RJ-45 connector to use it (best way to describe it). It's difficult to use, and I won't be surprised if it breaks off.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Laptop is overall of good quality, no issues so far. Fingerprint censor is pretty accurate and reliable, and the function keys for things such as the calculator and snip features are really handy. Typing is pretty good, however sometimes I find myself accidentally pressing the Num Lock key instead of backspace, but this can be attributed to me being used to typing on external keyboards. I have been using this for my Comp Sci studies as well as the rest of school, and it has been running great, compiling code in Java has been running smoothly. Overall, I highly recommend this laptop.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased the Thinkbook 15 Gen 2 for my wife. She is very happy with it. The screen is bright and ample. She is using it primarily for word processing, web browsing, and lite photo editing. The battery life is acceptable for her needs. A good value overall.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this laptop. The design is nice. The keyboard is backlit and very comfortable to use. There is also a numberpad, numerous ports, and no problems keeping a number of tabs open at the same time. This laptop is a winner.
