G12 does what I wanted and more.

I am getting back into golf and G12 relieves the uncertainty of distance to the green. The score keeping feature is a bonus. The distance measurement ability is being explored.
Unfortunately I have yet to transfer the scores to my cell phone. I don't know if it's a missing app or what. I didn't buy it for score keeping but not being able to use it frustrates me.

Good on the GPS for yardage

The Approach G12 just eliminated me using my phone all round for gps distance. Could use and would appreciate slope calculations but you get what you pay for. Moving the pin helps.

I have a laser scope, but the Garmen Approach is a quick read to hazards and distances to the green.

Great compact gps

I won the approach G12 at a golf tournament as a flag prize for "closest to the hole in 2". I had been disappointed in the old gps I had been using and was ready to toss it. What a relief it is to now have a unit that is accurate and easy to use and always with me even when I'm playing out of the rough!

Has flaws

Got this for Christmas and have used it 3 times. My major complaint is that on my course some greens are apparently not close enough to the cart path and the G12 will not change to score, putts, and in fairway. Instead it just stays on distance to hole and increases as you drive away. You then have to do score manually which is not that easy. There needs to be a change so this does not happen!!

I received the Approach G12 as a Christmas gift. I won’t be above to use it until spring, unless it works with our Club’s simulator!
