Easy to read.

I bought this after my G10 died, I like this but the features on the G10 were easier to access. I have yet to find how to get distances to hazards.

I am very pleased with the G12. The device provides most of the information and features I needed and expected for a very reasonable price. The only draw back, not on the device itself, but the added cost for the CT10 golf club trackers

Nice concept, but mostly can't get it to work

I've had the G12 for several weeks now and can only get it to show distances. Paired it to my iPhone and only get hole overviews, no stats or scorecards. Set device to keep a scorecard and it only gives end of round total. My G6 was perfect and wish I could get another. but they're out of production. Is there any way I could talk to a real person to get this set up correctly? Very frustrating and not particularly useful.

Nice gadget!

I bought the Garmin Approach G12 to replace a Garmin Approach S1 that had served me well, but the band was broken and I was having real difficulty charging it. The G12 is wonderful! It is nice to have distances to layups, doglegs, hazards, etc. So far, it charges and locates the courses quickly. I'm not fond of the clip on the back to attach it to a pocket, so purchased a fob and carabiner clip (sold for the G10) that gives me a little more peace of mind and mobility of use. I am very pleased with the purchase, and trust it will last for many, many years.

Best battery life

Bought this specifically for the battery life. We have outings that we play sun up to sun down and this one easily does it with one charge.

The features are fine and I have no complaints about the quality or functionality of the G12. However, the clip is useless. What am I supposed to clip it to? My pocket? So I can scrap my hand against the clip every time I put my hand in my pocket to get a tee? And have to remove it from my pocket every time I want to look at it? It needs some kind of carabiner to hook onto a belt loop.

Takes some getting used to but a good GPS - except

I've only used it twice and so far it requires some work - especially the scoring.
I think what I've learned is you need to record the score near the hole you just finished. If you walk to the next hole, the scoring input prompt goes away.

The except is: although I record my penalties per hole, Garmin does not provide a way to view them on the scorecard after the round.

I must admit this product was/is far more complicated and discerning to use. The interface with the phone the buttons which are confusing. My previous Garmin was far simpler and easy to deploy.
