Does the job in an economical way

This device does what it advertises. Picks up the satellites reasonably quickly. I have used it on 3 local courses. On one course, the carts also had a yardage display and the device was consistent. The clip stays on my belt very securely. I tried it once clipped to my pocket and it was not as secure. The only design issue I have is when it is clipped to my belt and I look down to get my yardage, the display is upside down. It would be great if the clip or the bezel rotated so when I looked down, I could read the numbers more easily. Otherwise, no complaints with the display or the accuracy. This was a good purchase.

Good, Inexpensive Option

Garmin is the standard for GPS. This device doesn't always have all the traps and water listed, but it's good on distances. Glad I bought it.

Big help in a small package

After using the previous version of this gps, the S10, the S12 is a great replacement at just about the same price ! Easier to read numbers and some new functionality.

Very Good Device

I like the Garmin Approach G12. It is easy to set up and use when I get to the course to play. I can keep score. I can get green side, fairway bunker and water hazards yardages. This is a powerful tool it gives how far you have to green if you hit the ball a certain distance from the tee or where your ball is sitting. I do not know what other information one would need to play a casual round of golf. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is the app for the phone is pretty pedestrian (useless).

Confusing displays

I have used the G12 for three rounds so far. I had the G10 and I liked it better. To get back to the score card to update your score is very problematic. Too bad garmin didn't give you the option to count your strokes as you play. Some of my courses are not up to date. Bluetooth signal is week, I have to keep reconnecting it while on the course.

Handy little device

Fits nice in your pocket. Can clip onto bag or something else. Played one course that had remodeled and device wasn’t up to date. Not sure what to do about that.
