Great device

I bought this several weeks ago. I have used it several times on the course. Fits in my pocket, easy to read, great features, and the battery is still almost full. I had an older approach, and I replaced it with this. I didn't want a watch, and didn't want a handheld, so this is perfect.

Better than the watch

Not sure why, but this little GPS secures satellite coverage faster than my Garmin watch.
I also prefer to have this in my pocket vs.

The 'middle' of the green read out is as accurate as friends' range finders and much faster/easier to use.

A little fussy

Yes, it has a lot of features. But you have to go through a lot of menus all the time. I think maybe it's just me, I would appreciate something a little bit simpler. Also, as people age, it would be great if this thing was a little bit larger in size, even though there is a large text mode, GPS and the technical performance of it is fantastic.

G10 was easier to use but still a good Garmin product. long battery life and easy to clip on bag and go. great price. right amount of features for price tag. Great to look at and get quick distances for front middle and back of green. Has dogleg, bunker and layup features as well. If you want more accurate distance get a range finder, but this does the job well. Great to use at courses where you're unfamiliar with landmarks or yardages.

Garmin Approach G12 has everything you need to tell yardages to the green as well as the various hazards and bunkers in your path. It allows you to have confidence with your club selection and swing away without worries. Easy to use and read in bright sunlight. I love it!

I bought this to replace my older handheld Garmin approach. Excellent battery life. Same distances as my older model so works very well. Attaches easily inside my push cart for easy accss.
