Great until it isn't

I bought this about 3 years ago and have used it probably 6 times, never super heavy use as I only have 1 battery anyways. After sitting idle for around a year, when I went to use it, it just did not work. No response at all. I fiddled with it for a while and it randomly started to work. 6 days later nothing again no matter how much fiddling. It really doesn't seem like it is built to last. Seems like it should be extremely simple electronics, but something has given up. Fairly disappointing.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

When installing the battery please be sure to give it a firm push into place; a loose connection could be the culprit! I now have the 8’ 24V Pole saw and Shop Vac plus the 40 V Snow thrower and they are work perfectly with a lot of piswer and long battery life.
I would recommend any of the tool
