This is my first ever chainsaw. I am a 63 year old woman.I wanted an electric, battery operated small chainsaw It is not too heavy, and works very well for my needs (cutting small bits of firewood, clearing field edges, processing kindling). The battery charge lasts about as long as I haven't had it long, but so far I'm pleased with my purchase.

Semi-professional+ tree cutter. I've used this when I had break-downs with gas powered saws. Performance has no comparison but this has been consistent and filled in many times - even if it means I can only get a one to two cuts in 30" wide rounds or 10 cuts in 12" rounds - I can do some other work while the battery is charging. No sudden unexpected freeze-up in cylinder of a gas saw which points to potentially a broken saw, no worry about spark plug, gas mix and gas. I also cut big woody portions of fruit trees with this.
I need to say this one thing as I know we have the populace uninformed: battery operated saws (and cars) are not directly related to burning gas but indirectly as in recharging electricity is produced often from burning of coal, natural gas and other such material, with some generated from renewable types of energy so do not assume it's 100% free from the use of fossil fuels and CO2 generation (not a big scare as many want you to think - take it from a scientist).

I bought this a while back for light yard work and it worked fine. Really easy to use and much more convenient that an gas saw. Then we had a big willow fall at the back of our yard. In the last few months i have made many cuts more than 12 inches and one around 30 inches. The saw has been great. It will only do 30 or 40 minutes of active work before recharging but that is OK for me. If you are thinking "it will do the regular stuff but what if ...?" then i have been there and it was great.

I wonder where this battery powered chain saw has been all my life! It is a thousand times better than a gas powered one. I enjoy not having to smell the odor of the gas powered ones. I purchased the larger battery and it lasts a lot longer than this ole lady can work. I am so impressed with the power! LOVE IT---LOVE IT---LOVE IT!!!!!!!

Literally bought this for my wife's Mother's Day gift as she tires of waiting on me and/or the sometimes working gas chain saw when she wants a limb or two here and there cut down on our 2 acre property. Touch of a button cranking is awesome, power is sufficient and sooo much more convenient that the same size gas saw. Very easy to tighten chain. When you put the battery in it is a bit heavier than anticipated but not bad. Can't rate accurately on durability as haven't had long but battery charge (40 volt) lasts longer than we want to saw at any one time.

We own a 110 acre farm, that means lots of cutting, chopping and general property grooming. The two gas powered chainsaws I own are a pain to use because they are hard starting. I basically wear myself out pulling the ropes until I get light headed. So this year I did research on battery powered chainsaws and decided to give Greenworks a try. Well we put our new 20312 G-Max 40V chainsaw to work on a 20 foot long, 10 inch round fallen tree limb and our Greenworks did not disappoint. The battery charge indicator was very helpful keeping me aware of my power status. My wife loved how light weight, easy and SAFE it was to use. To make a long story short, Greenworks is now our favorite company, are you guys publicly traded because I want to buy your stock!
