Pretty good when the line extends. It doesn't come out when bumped and sometimes gets lost inside resulting in disassembly.

I am sorry to hear about your experience. Please be advised only 1/4 inch of trimmer line is extended when you bump the head. Trimmer line tends to break off when the trimmer line makes contact with hard surface areas. Therefore more line is required. If the line gets too short it does roll back into the trimmer head. The trimmer line should be 2-3 inches out of the trimmer head while in operation.
We advise extending the line prior to use and keeping an eye on trimmer line when the unit is in use so it does not get too short.

Nice lightweight tool, but the string became worn down within one use. I'm hoping that Greenworks will replace it.

Not much power, can't find replacement line anywhere. When I called Greenworks, I gave them the model number STF310 and they told me it didn't exist. Also bought the blower, not enough power to blow leaves.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Old technology brush motor

Unit quit after two seasons when brush hung up - grass and cutting moisture gummed up the brush track. Would not have purchased if I knew the motor had old technology brushes. Good performance when it was running.

Brushed Motor - Bad

Used this unit for two seasons and it quit. I opened the case and found it used a brushed motor - and one of the brushes was frozen in place by dirt, grass and water ... A brushed motor is NG for trimming as grass is 90% water.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Was pleasantly surprised by how well this trimmer worked to clean up my yard. Plenty of power and battery life for hours of trimming. My only complaint is holding it for edging my lawn was awkward.

I was so excited to see this tool runs off the same battery as my drill driver! How cool is that. One battery, many tools!
This string trimmer is perfect for me and my little yard. Just enough to get it done w/ minimal effort. Also impressed by the power. Haven't bogged it down yet!
