Great for travel

This is perfect for travel if you’re used to a Hatch at home but I wish it was Bluetooth rather than wifi like the original hatch. It’s a great size for any bedside table and helps bring a little familiarity for kids traveling away from their own hatch.

The connection to the app is poor- the premium content is strange and jarring. Not much besides the standard content is actually soothing.

Nice machine, terrible app controls

I was really excited when Hatch released the Rest Mini as I love my Rest and wanted something smaller and cheaper for other rooms. The experience would be perfect if the Mini had the same app controls as the Rest, but it’s totally different and mostly overtaken by advertisements for paid content, whether you have the subscription or not. I do like the idea of the sleep stories and I am trying out Hatch Access, but it’s not usable on my Rest and I’m honestly considering returning the Mini to get another full sized machine just for the app experience.

I bought a Hatch Rest

I bought a Hatch Rest for my first baby and absolutely loved it, so when my second child was born I immediately knew I wanted a Hatch for him as well. I went with the mini because my kids will eventually room share and I didn't want to spend as much for something temporary.
On that point, I'm happy with my Mini. It is cheaper and performs its basic function. However, I had trouble getting it to connect to the app. Once it did connect, I was able to spend about 5 minutes flipping through sound options before the app insisted my Mini needed to update. Now I can't use the app for it at all because it always says it cant connect to the Mini to perform the update.
I can still use the app just fine for my regular Rest machine, despite it being further away from the router. The Mini still functions through the controls on the machine itself. So my purchase was still worth it.
I would love if I could access the app to set timers and turn it on/off from a distance but the app just doesn't work. When I did get to access the app, the format and layout was very different than it was for the regular Rest, so I was very confused and had a hard time navigating.
Overall I am pleased with my purchase, but only because I intended it to be temporary and basic from the start. If I'd known the app would have so many problems, I would have bought something cheaper.

We have 3 Hatxh products, two Rest and the mini. I love this mini! It’s perfect for my baby who needs the dark but still needs white noise. This would also be great in a guest room.
