Difficult to remove basket to clean

I received this as a Christmas gift and was so excited to start using it. Unfortunately it is next to impossible to press the latch hard enough to separate the basket to clean it. My husband has no more success than I do. We press the latch release with all our strength and it we are lucky, we get it at the correct angle to release. It takes 7-8 tries each time and I am afraid it is only a matter of time before the handle breaks. Perhaps the one we have is defective. I hope so as this can’t be that way the release latch is supposed to work.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We are really sorry to hear that the latch is not responding well, we will be more than happy to help you with this issue. Always make sure that the pan ands basket have cooled down before cleaning. Next, slide the transparent lid to access the release button. Once this is done you should be able to press the release button and simultaneously detach the basket of the Philips airfryer. Works Well

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used my air fryer a lot since I got it. I spray a little bit of cooking spray on my food and bam, perfect. If I'm feeling lazy, I line it with aluminum foil for easy clean up. I don't change my temperature much but there are preset buttons if you want to go that route. I make all kinds of things in here, not just fried things. I've learned to wrap some items in foil if I want them to be more baked and not fried, such as stuffed mushrooms and peppers. It really is an awesome product.

A must have!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] One of the best kitchen appliances! The display is touch screen so it is easy to use & clean. Cooks food evenly and quickly by use of the internal tray design. Also a great way to reheat leftovers to have them taste like it was just made. I can’t wait to try new recipes. The inside tray is easily cleaned & is nonstick. Also a great item to use when it’s hot outside & you don’t want to heat your house by using the oven. This is a must have in my kitchen & will be a Christmas gift for my family members!

Nice looking and excellent cooking functions

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The cooking functions and the appearance of this airfryer are great.
However the actual product dimensions is around 9 x 9 at top, 10 x 10 at base and 11 inches at height, much smaller than the misleading dimensions 13.1 x 13.1 x 13.8 inches under Product Information online. The cooking basket holds only 6 mi-section chicken wings.
To me as a consumer, the dimensions of the cooking basket is very important. If that information is included, I would make a better decision to purchase HD9270/91 instead of HD9252/91.
Since display of this product is not available in any local retail stores 25 miles near me, I had to purchase the airfryer online but not 100% satisfied with the size of the cooking basket. I will live with it unless Philips PR can reach out for help.

Great for frying

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a convenient and easy to way to get fried food without all the grease and mess. It is easy to clean and makes delicious food. It’s a little small so you have to cook in batches but if you’re not trying to make large portions it works well.

Great Air Fryer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Philips essential airfryer is great. It is a compact fryer and doesn’t take much space on the counter. The dry basket is thick and not flimsy. The directions were super easy to setup and use. I use the fryer a lot for the kids food. It takes about 14 minutes for fries and nuggets. I highly recommend the Philips airfryer.

Quiet and easy to set temperature and time

It's touchscreen and have an app that you can download to get ideas and recipes that tailor towards what I like to eat as well as my family.
