I love this size and I love this shape especially for roasting chickens. You have enough room to add your vegetables in with the chicken, which is a huge plus. The spikes under the lid collect moisture and self-baste the dish all while it is cooking, so almost like you have an extra hand! You get to take all the credit though! Great size for all your entertaining needs!

Great Colour..Great Size...

This truffle colour is phenomenal.. gotta be seen to appreciate. Heavy, durable cast iron heats quickly then holds it a long while. Tiny spikes beneath lid distribute moisture throughout for great results!

This cocotte sits on our stove top and never gets put away because we use it every day. The heat capability of the pan is amazing - heats up quickly and evenly. It has self-basting spikes on the interior of the lid which collect and return all moisture back into dish - nothing dries out and the food stays moist. I often pan fry burgers in the pan and the searing capability of the is amazing. Also, the high walls prevent grease from getting on the stove top. The Saffron color is perfect for spring.

Versatile pot

I was looking of a Dutch oven and after a lot of research, I purchased this one and I couldn't be happier! I love that this pot has a black interior so that it doesn't get stained like a white interior would. I also like that the interior is textured because it browns meat better. The handles are big, so I can easily grab it when taking it out of the oven or moving it around the stove. It is easy to take care of because it is enameled, not like regular cast iron.

The 5.5qt is one of the most popular sizes after the 4qt. I use this cocotte a lot too for larger gatherings when I need to feed more people. It is the perfect size for holiday braised short ribs, red wine beef stew, and is only limited by ones own imagination.
