The Perfect Combo

Four Star is such an awesome knife line because it's forged from high carbon German steel and made in Germany, just like the Pro line. Guaranteed to last a lifetime! It has a molded handle which is very comfortable, durable and lighter weight.
This two piece combo is perfect in my book! The prep knife can handle all your smaller tasks; apples, garlic, and slicing through small chees and meats. The rocking santoku is a great "cross over" knife. It has a razor sharp edge, sharper than the chef knife, "dimples" to help keep food from sticking to the blade, plus its shape makes it easy to rock or chop, depending on the task at hand.

A great set of knives

A really unique knife set, these are a great pair of blades. I love a rocking santoku blade and how lightweight this one is thanks to the Four Star being a lightweight knife collection, but also being a durable and sharp blade. A great multipurpose knife, you can slice, dice and mince with comfort and control with this knife. With the Prep, it’s a great alternative to using a large blade, while still being able to slice, chop cut produce, meat and veggies with ease on a cutting board. A great starter set and well made too.

Added this set to an incomplete knife and block set. The smaller knife is a duplicate but that is fine because it is a great all around knife. The shape of these knifes is fantastic for reducing hand fatigue when doing a lot of food prep. I plan to use the large knife for training my children the proper way to chop food. These knives are the best I've seen for learning the rocking method of cutting that prevents the knife from being lifted from the board. This lends to better control, less fatigue, and all around safer knife skills. Highly recommended.

Four Star has a really nice feeling handle. Is easy to grip even when wet and works with smaller hands. Premium German Steel, made in Germany, ice hardened to hold an edge longer these knives are ready to take on the toughest challenges in the kitchen.
This set is great for those who don't want to invest in a whole block set but want a high quality knife. The prep knife has enough knuckle clearance to do those small jobs and the rocking santoku can do anything a chef knife can do without having food stick to the blade.

The Four Star line has been a part of our lineup forever. That's because it was designed with working kitchens in mind. So it will live up to just about anything a home kitchen can come up with.
The comfortable handle and slightly lighter weight makes this a knife you can work with for hours. The straight bolster securely positions the thumb and forefinger for optimal cutting.
The two knives in this set are represent some the newer thinking in knife design. They marry Eastern and Western thinking on the shape, width and arc of the blades. Both are terrific for vegetable-centric menus. But don't worry, they cut meat, poultry and fish just as well, if not better!

Two great knives! The prep knife I use for quick chops, like cutting a piece of fruit up for the kids or chopping a carrot over a soup pot. The rocking santoku use for everything but especially great for big vegetable prep jobs - think Thanksgiving. The knives are made from German Special Formula Steel and forged so durable long lasting knives.
