Great for no-knead bread

I already have a cocotte but I read about french oven bread and so I decided to buy one and give it a shot. The shape of this made for a perfect sourdough loaf with incredibly crispy crust and soft interior. You definitely need pot holder to move or grab the knob but in my experience it didn't get crazy hot that if you accidentally touched it you would get burned which is a big plus for my clumsy self. White is a hard colour to keep clean but I use barkeeper's friend and it polishes it very nicely.

Bought it a month ago and been using it for cooking soups, mussels, pasta sauce. It’s amazing! It keeps the heat inside and seems like cooking is faster than usual. Of course, it’s beautiful in my stove too.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love this pot and have been wanting it for awhile. I love the weight but frustrated the lid has a yellow spot and inside looks to hAve white splatter paint.

Beautiful Functional Oven

This French Oven is a great choice for baking bread as well as cooking and stewing meats, chicken, stews and chilis. And even though it is white, the clean up is effortless, even with spills on the exterior. Self basting lid combined with the dark interior are two unique features Staub offers that other cast iron products don't have. Great results for any cooking task.

Can't live without this pan! Perfect size for my family. Great for cooking and baking. The Essential pan is not quite as heavy as the more traditional Staub Cocotte because the lid is a different design and has less weight.
Made in France, Staub is so durable that it used in many 5 star restaurant throughout the world. Gas, glass and induction capable, also oven safe up to 500 degrees. This pan will definitely be passed down to my daughter's, daughter!

Poor quality enamel outside and inside overspray

White is only available in the USA I got it shipped to the UK even though I can see France from the beach!!
Terrible quality white overspray on the black coating inside I thought it was dust. It wasn’t.
The white enamel under the handles is patchy and the black metal of the pan shows through and looks cheap.
I don’t like leaving bad reviews but for the cost it’s unacceptable. Waiting to here from customer services in USA and Europe. We live in a global market place why do colours have to be unavailable in Europe when they are made there. Just senseless!!! This has put me off making further purchases.
