Geared toward cooking grains, I tend to use this pan to make soup or chili. The heat capability of the pan is amazing - heats up quickly and evenly. The black matte finish creates an incredible sear on anything you cook. The pan can with stand temperatures up to 500F and can be used on any cooking surface, even your BBQ.

This pan really can cook anything . It has self-basting Chistera spikes on the interior of the lid which collect and return all moisture back into dish, perfect for cooking grains as nothing dries out. The heat capability of the pan is amazing - heats up quickly and evenly, also stays hot for hours. Love the clean, sleek look of the white color, will blend into any kitchen color.

This new take on the Staub cocotte is great. The softer shape gives fits in nicely in my kitchen. I still get all the benefits of a traditional Staub piece, even browning, easy release, and self basting. The curved shape makes it easy to stir and it does a phenominal job cooking grains and legumes.

This was a birthday gift for my daughter. She likes my Le Creuset. When i compared the two i liked that the lid has a tighter closure and the lid lets all the steam back into the pot.

Love this Essential French oven. All the benefits of cast iron enamel, but a little lighter than the Staub traditional cocotte. Great for making stews, soups and stocks. The caste iron is perfect for oatmeal, grains, and rice. Great absorption and no scorching. Truly a terrific addition to my collection.

My family gave this to me for my 40th birthday. Finally a gift I love. Cast iron really retains the heat. It's so attractive I love serving from it too. Nice size for a family of four. Love making soups, sauces, rice and grains. Perfect mac and cheese pan, I can cook on top of stove, and finish off with crispy bread crumbs in the oven.
