Best knives for the money on the market

This is my second set of Zwilling Pro knives. The first set I had was slightly different than this and I added knives over the years. I had them for 10 years, before they were lost in a house fire. It's been a year and half since I had these, and I've struggling with cheap knives. Just got these and I have to say, a world of difference than the cheap knives. The chef's knife is so well balanced, lightweight, comfortable bolster for a pinch grip. I can dice onions or mince garlic so much more easily now. Edge is very sharp. Just sliced sirloin tri tip super thin like cutting butter. Very precise. Durabilty wasn't a problem before and I expect these to work as well. This set is a really good bang for the buck when you get it it on sale. It has three knives that I use all the time, the chef's, the pairing, and the bread knife. My previous set also had a 5" santoku and a 5" utility that was the shape of a pairing knife. I do miss the santoku, as my wife loved it. That is a great knife for small hands. This utility knife has a different shape than my previous one. I am ambivalent about the utility knife. I'd rather have a santoku. But a solid starter set. The shears that come with the set are okay, not the greatest. They don't seem to come apart and I remember from before that when you wash the shears you have to really dry them with a towel and get into the joint. They will start to rust otherwise. I plan on getting the 2 piece carving set in the future, the downside is that this block doesn't seem to be able to accommodate the fork which is a drawback. But as far as value, quality, usefulness, I wouldn't buy anything other than a Zwilling Pro with the tapered bolster. They aren't showy. They don't have the damascus folding. But none of that is needed to thin cut steak or dice onions. They just work really well and are pretty easy to maintain and are offered at a reasonable price.

DON'T WAIT TO TREAT YOURSELF!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] For the last 20 years, I have been using the same knife set my parents got me when I went to college. They were cheap and serrated and never needed sharpening. But they also didn't cut very well. Cutting a carrot seemed to take brut strength and let's not get into slicing up a tomato or a piece of fish. I love cooking and finally decided to buy some "Adult Knives". I go the 7 piece Pro series block set. It has all the knives I wanted and none I didn't. They are soooo super sharp right out of the box and they make preparing dinner such a pleasure. If your knives aren't a joy to use, it's time to upgrade to the Zwilling Pro 7 Piece set. You won't be disappointed!

Looking for a sharp knife?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's too early to give a review, but while cleaning the new knives, I sliced my finger without even noticing it because they were that sharp. My wound skin sticking well, healed well and quickly because of the clean cut. I am satisfied.

Great knives, bad block

MY family has been using Henckels for a long time! Finally got our own set as a wedding present and the knives never disappoint. However, the wood block has a good size crack on the top of it. But warranty claims are extensive and not worth going through.

This is my favorite block from the Zwilling family. The acacia wood is so pretty and the block contains four very essential knives. The Pro knives are the best because of their ergonomic full tang handles and innovative curved bolster making the professional pinch grip the most comfortable.
