A MUST HAVE ADAPTER
on January 17, 2023

This is a must have adapter to have. Whether if is it to use a Tesla Home or Destination Wall Connector (at home or away at a hotel), or a Tesla mobile connector. The adapter worked just fine on all my EV's ('21 Mach E, '23 Subaru Solterra, and my '23 Chevy Bolt). Food for thought, If looking for a level 2 mobile charger, look for one where they offer other receptacle/plug adapters other than the standard 5-15 & 14-50 plugs. This will allow the greatest flexibility possible as we travel and transition to electric.

Works great with Rivian R1S!
on July 17, 2023

I bought this to use with my Rivian R1S and my existing Tesla Wall Charger. My 2015 Model S had an additional on board charger and could accept 80A. My current Plaid maxes out at 48A, but because it could communicate that to the charger there were no problems. With the adapter I needed to make sure that my wall charger dip switches were set to max out at 48A and then there were no issues with the adapter and my Rivian R1S. I really like the ability to lock it, with a padlock, so it doesn’t walk away while you are using it on a road trip.

Well built, compact, works well

Pros: Can charge up to 48A from any Tesla AC charger, generally just works, seems very well built and pretty compact
Cons: Not UL or eTL listed, causes a "charge fault" on our J1772 car (Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid) if not plugged in or unplugged with the right sequence (but charging still works fine).

It works as advertised. I have it connected to Tesla Gen3 wall charger and when I am not charging Tesl, I charge my Toyota Rev4 Prime and in 4 hours it is fully charged up to 40 miles.

Tesla to J1772 adapter

Good item to have for any EV user. I was at a hotel one day and needed to charger but all the charging stations were full. The only open ones were Tesla chargers but I Didn’t have an adapter. Luckily I had enough charge to make it home the next day but I didn’t want to get stuck in the situation again. As soon as I got home I went online and bought this adapter and now anytime I go out I have more flexibility to charge. I no longer have anxiety issues about not being able to charge because I know most of the time tesla chargers are open and I’ll be able to charge since I have this adapter.

Work with Kia Niro PHEV with correct settings
on November 27, 2022

I have a 2022 Kia Niro PHEV and at first, I could not get this adapter to work with the Tesla Destination charger at a nearby State Park. However, it worked great charging my brother-in-law's Toyota Rav 4 PHEV using the same charger and adapter. What I discovered is that I had to go into my KIA's PHEV menu and set the charging current to "Minimum". I had originally had it set at "Maximum". I next tried "Reduced" and it still would not charge. When I set the current to "Minimum" the blue light on the Tesla charger turned green and Voila! it started charging. The Kia manual doesn't say much about those settings and what they actually do but an hour of charge on the Tesla charger added about 10 miles which I believe is what it should be for a Level 2 charger. I will add the adapter does appear well-built and I was impressed with the quick response I received from Lectron's customer service when I emailed them the problem I was having.
