[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've used this ThinkPad X1E Gen 3 for a week, and it is absolutely a great machine I've ever bought. The battery is good enough for a whole school day; it lasts about 10 hours. The fan is not loud and the performance is absolutely amazing.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall I am very happy with this laptop so far. I have been using a macbook pro retina running windows 7 in full resolution since about 2013. I was hesitant to move from that hardware, and also to windows 10.
I saw thinkpads recommended for running ubuntu and this was the best one I could find.
Windows 10 pro on this laptop was much nicer than I expected, however due to my specific software dev work, I installed Ubuntu 20.04 as a dual boot and primarily run in that.
There are some nice features of the laptop that work in windows but not ubuntu. The touchpad in particular functions much better in windows 10 than in Ubuntu, but I am mostly using an M570 mouse, which works great.
I would recommend this to a friend!
