GREAT LAPTOP!!!!! VERY FAST & VERY POWERFUL BUT...

The ThinkPad X1 Extreme Gen 3 Laptop is a very fast and powerful laptop with a gorgeous 4k Touchscreen at 400 Nits this laptop lights up the room and you can use it in very bright areas. I love the carbon fiber finish on the top of the laptop. It has very smooth edges and the touch of the keyboard and mouse are very pleasing to the hand. There are many great things about this laptop but it does fall short in some areas which is way I am choosing to return it. At it price point you would expect it to have a better battery life then it does. Now if you turn the resolution down and the brightness of the screen you can save some battery life but working at 100% of its screen resolution and brightness you'll get about 2 hours give or take. Lower it to 1080p and you can get maybe 4 hours. Now I will say with the 135 watt charger it does charge very fast, but that just means you are always going to have to have it plugged it. I believe you should increase the size of the battery. The other thing is although I like the fact the the laptop can lay flat its really not practical. This means you have to have a big area to lay it flat and flip it around to draw and on top of that you have to go into the setting to flip the screen yourself it doesn't automatically do it.
So my summary is if this laptop had a better battery life and could do 360 like the Yogo this will be the ULTIMATE LAPTOP. I believe it would be able to even bet the XPS.
Also you should really give a free microfiber cloth and laptop sleeve for free purchasing one of these laptop. HP does with there Spectre X360 and that's a lower price range.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the best computer I’ve had. The processor speed, hard disk storage capacity and RAM capacity are all amazing and it’s really fast. One of the best things is the wide screen. With the working from home regime of the pandemic period having a wide 15 inch screen has been one of the best things. It’s every easily expandable to a second screen if needed. For additional security in this cyber security sensitive era it has a fingerprint setup and login. The price is really competitive for what you get with this computer. And getting it from Lenovo directly provided that needed level of comfort about authenticity of parts. It’s also brand new, not renewed. The keyboard type is great as well which makes this computer even much easier to use. Overall I’m enjoying using this computer for work daily and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for first rate data management and analysis or other tasks which are computationally demanding.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Exactly what I was looking for. High quality, quick, durable laptop with multiple I/O options and quick charge. Won't be going back to a MacBook Pro for my business even though it was a great computer.

FORGET 1080P GO WITH 4K. I'M IN LOVE.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I struggled with my decision to go 1080p or 4k. I'd heard stories of 4k not interfacing well with all softwares and was concerned about getting 4k. So I ordered both to see for myself. I'll be returning the 1080p. I was surprised no youtube reviews talked about the appearance of text on 4k versus 1080p, that's why I decided I'll just have to see for myself. I write quite a lot as my living. I'd also heard that with 4k, the Extreme heats up faster than the 1080p. So let me dispel the myths. First, the tool bar icons in Word and italicized text viewed on 1080p looked pixilated and/or the edges of letters looked muddy. On 4k, the texts is sharp like a knife and text is stunning. There's no comparison at all. Letters will look a bit thinner on 4k than on 1080p, the beauty of text rendering can't be matched when on 4k. If you feel letters are too think, just increase magnification in Word and text is higly readable, superb. All apps render stunningly. Some software had minor glitches when interfacting with 4k, but all glitches where resolved when dealing with tech support at the software companies. Color saturation doesn't compare on the 1080p. 1080p looks washed out compared to 4k. As for 4k draining the battery, you know, I got 4 hours plus on 4k versus 6, not enough to be bothered and I'm plugged in most of the time anyway. The complaint about draining battery is overrated. As for myths I heard that fans will come screeching on more often with 4k than 1080p, I did not find that to be true AT ALL. On day 1, fans came on loud on both laptops as they madly updated. After day 1, I never heard the fan again. Super quiet. The carbon weave lid on the 4k is superior in look and durability to the 1080p. The carbon weave in real-life is gorgeous. It's like industrial cool. Makes the laptop look way more premium. I was a big doubter and skeptic about 4k. Let me just tell you, I am in love with my 4k screen and the look for the 4k lid. So I hope I save someone the trouble of stressing over which to get. 4k is the future. ZERO scaling problems. Well, there was one with a screenwriting program I used, but tech support easily fixed the issue. 4k all the way. Gorgeous machine Lenovo. Been with you for decades. There's a reason why! Well worth the price tag.
