I bought a new hp Elite Book a couple of weeks ago to replace my old Elitebook because I needed greater performance while on long term telework (multi-screen, running several applications including zoom, work vpn, office suite, web based stuff, etc.). I am very happy with the improved performance. BUT - audio is hit or miss. I often experience joining a zoom meeting (or WebEx another tech I use a lot) and being forced to plug in a headset to access audio. Oddly, sometimes (not reliably) if I then unplug the headset then the computer audio system suddenly works.
Good product, but was expecting to utilize the docking stations purchased with the 840 G6. It was very disappointing to discover this was not the case.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this Elite Notebook on recommendation of photography site. So far, haven't figured out the photography advantages/advances, but the notebook itself seems adequate. It was easy to set up and dive into, for us e-challenged elders. More to be explored and hopefully tricks to learn.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this for my daughter for Christmas and she hasn’t been able to put it down. So fast and easy to use! We love it. Great price too!!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The build is astounding, the keyboard and trackpad are excellent, it is very light and compact, and the battery is great. The base 128/4GB config is pitiful and the hard drive is super slow, but you can upgrade both ram and hard drive any time you want, with just 5 Phillips screws!
In retrospect I would've spent a bit more to have a brighter screen. The matte finish makes the 250 nit variant serviceable and attractive, but don't expect to use this outdoors if you don't upgrade it to the 400 nit variant.
Overall a 9/10 if money is no object (eg you can convince you IT department to get one of these)
