This set is beautiful!
on June 9, 2021

This set is amazing! I don’t know if this part is based on the real Taj Mahal, but I enjoyed the bright orange, blue and green interior pieces. They kept the build from getting monotonous in some ways. The base of this set is much sturdier than any of my other architecture sets. The time it took wasn’t too bad for the piece count. Each of the ten bags probably took me 30-45 minutes, and I’m not very quick. You would think that any and all legos are safe for your average thirteen-or-so year old, but I can see where Lego was coming from with the age rating. There are lots of small, pointed pieces. I scraped myself a time or two, but nothing that broke skin. I wouldn’t have cared if I had broken skin though, because it would have been worth it! A really, really lovely set!

Mostly Good (mistake or Easter egg on the box!)
on December 5, 2021

First of all, I bought this because the price is very low for the amount of pieces. The reason I say “mostly good” is because there are a lot of repeated steps which was pretty annoying. Otherwise I really enjoyed building this.
The picture on the box has something a little strange to me. I doubt this was done on purpose, but if anybody happens to know this was intentional and if so, why?, I’d love to know. So basically the white pieces lining the bottom (I circled them in the picture) have the LEGO logo on one side and a random dot on the other side. The pieces are placed vertically in a way that the logo is always at the top. However, one of the pieces on the corner has the logo at the bottom with the dot on top. I found that really interesting.

Disappointing

Verified Purchase:No
As an Indian I’m seriously ticked off by the way Lego ended up making this set. There are crosses everywhere in this set instead of being crescents (like real life) and for this reason I ended up returning it. Please take care of what you are trying to do here which is depicting a wonder of the world! Either do it correctly or don’t do it all. This building was created by a Muslim
Man in honor of his wife and love. Making it Christian with a cross makes absolutely no sense it’s like making a church with a Star of David. Please redesign this at once. The fact that they took no consideration for the real life monument and made it their own and calling it Taj Mahal is disgusting.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] LOOK IN THE FRONT RIGHT CORNER OF THE TAJ MAHAL. DO YOU SEE THE ISSUE???? THE PATTERN IS INTERRUPTED IN THE OFFICIAL IMAGE. FIX. Overall the build looks very nice atop my bookshelf and was fun to build.,

Why is there a cross at the top of the dome?
on December 1, 2021
Posted by: ccpu
Why is there a cross at the top of the center dome instead of a crescent moon? It may not be the actual cross shape but it is made to look like a cross from any angle. The designer who paid attention to so many details of the structure could not figure out the difference between a crescent moon and a cross? Or is Lego not capable of designing a simple crescent shape despite being able to create so many custom pieces for this set? This is a deliberate microagression at its best, trying to put your personal / religion first.

We want to assure you that this piece wasn't designed to be a religious symbol and we're sorry that it created this impression. Our designers work to recreate buildings as accurately as possible within the constraints of the pieces available. They looked at all the existing pieces and selected one to represent the ornate shape of the filial at the top of the Taj Mahal. We appreciate your feedback and we're always here at LEGO.build/Service-BV to answer any questions.

Size Difference
on June 13, 2021
Posted by: Frost1105
While the end product looks great, it’s odd to me that the size of the legos are larger than the lego sizes used in all of the other Architecture sets. Kind of looks like a misfit among the others.

Fun miniature version

Very excited to see this smaller version. Very fun to build and loved the way this set came together. Building the base was my favorite part and the top dome.
