I bought this to replace an excellent Kitchenaid commercial style range that was no longer repairable due to its age and lack of parts (probably over 20 years old). My initial appliance and the new replacement are both damaged. The first one had such a big dent on the side, that stuck out more than one inch, that it could not be installed and slid into the cutout. Then I had to have a 4 prong outlet installed, so the second attempt to install was a fail, and the electrician had to come. Now, on the third attempt, the bracket the holds the oven racks in on the side of the oven came unwelded and are loose. Thus, it cannot hold the bottom oven rack. The back of the oven is completely flat rather than recessed, and my gas valve doesn't allow it to slide in fully... it's rather deep and sticks out pretty far, so be warned if you have an older house with shallow counters. I have noticed how it sticks out in some of the review images. Now I need to call the gas guy and GE to see if this is salvageable. I tried cooking with it for the first time tonight... the burners are awesome! I love the cooktop design and high power, great for getting the water boiling. The oven seems a little poorer quality than my previous kitchenaid, design flaw with these rack brackets, also smaller than the kitchenaid, gets very hot on the side walls, so not as well insulated perhaps as the Kitchenaid. Seems to cook the food nicely and fast! Reheated some meatballs and made lava cakes and both were cooked effectively and efficiently. I am looking forward to trying the smart features and air fry option. The controls are intuitive and sleek, and it is very easy to use. We will see what happens with customer service tomorrow.
