I bought these today, at a local Marshalls.
Setup is painless- provided you have a USB power supply like a computer USB port, these things do nicely. HOWEVER - there is NO SPECIFICATION IN THE MANUAL what a safe power supply is. While a computer USB port is typically about 5V, there are USB fast chargers for phones that supply more than 5V and it would suck if someone less technologically literate plugged the USB in and fried their LED bar.

The in-box remote appears to operate by IR(infrared) - so think of it like an older TV remote - if you have line of sight from the remote to the light's sensor (presumably hidden in the transparent portion of the light bar), you can adjust it. This is very useful because it lets you adjust lights independently - just make sure the remote's beam isn't hitting both at once.
Then I tried the app.
The app...works - though if you connect both at the same time(via bluetooth), they will both be set to the same settings. You can adjust the colors on a color wheel, although ironically there's more preset single colors on the remote than there are in the app.
What's a bit mystifying is the app asks you for location. It's currently got nearly a one star rating on the google play app store because you can't proceed without letting it use your location - denying it in the phone prompts with 'don't ask me again' makes it loop endlessly trying to get permissions...I have since spoofed my GPS location to use this app. It asks for file access (which is understandable) and also microphone access (because it has a feature where the lights will change color/brightness to noise your phone picks up - rather underwhelming because it stops working when my phone display sleeps.)

There is also a "music" setting which changes brightness/light to music as well. BUT! there's some catches:
1) You have to have audio files on your phone, hence the file access (MP3 and WAV have worked so far)
2)You have to be playing music in the app's own player (so no external third-party mp3 apps or spotify)
3)It doesn't always work when you do play songs from the app. Some of your songs will work, some will not. Why? Who knows!
4) I hope you like scrolling through an alphabetical list of just song file names with no search feature. Is it "Fireflies" by Owl City or "Fireflies" by Ryan Farish? Won't know unless you put artist in the filename because the app doesn't read ID3 tags where you can find artist, title, album, year, etc.

Overall, it works out of the box, you can change the colors and brightness...and you shouldn't expect anything more.I find the MSRP for this product VERY disappointing otherwise.

Bright little light

This light is portable, lightweight and so bright! Used this on 1 of my storage room that has no light. Now, I don’t bring flashlight every single time I go to that room. The multicolor lights are extras for me, but surely give a nice touch. Plus, the price is cheaper than many similar items.
I would recommend this to a friend!

LOVE THIS LIGHT BAR

This lightbar is the perfect size to sit on my daughter's dresser in her room. It is bright enough to light up the room enough to still be able to see but not too bright as to blind you! I will definitely be buying another one of these for more rooms in our house and for presents!

I bought the light bar today and got it home only to realize that there isn't an app to download to control its colors. What am I supposed to do.

I like it, but you can't control the speed of the flashes. It would also be nice to have the wifi controls to be online, like another website maybe. It would also be cool to have a little wall hanger for it. But any other part is awesome
