Don't let the size fool you, these blow my old sound bar away. I'm no audiophile, and these are the first decent speakers i've ever bought, but you can certainly detect individual instrument sounds distinct from each other, cymbals, snare, bass, high brass sounds so clear. I can't always pick that up on my sound bar. There is output for a sub, but really these speakers offer plenty. Within six feet you can feel certain lower pitches in your body. If you're looking for something to replace your sound bar I would consider these speakers.
A bit lacking in the mids. Bass is over zealous, I’ve had to modify EQ to my liking. Great off the shelf solution, would recommend to others. Sound full at low volume
Awesome sound, and perfect for space with TV mounted on the wall. Didn’t work with the TV at first, but after installing the latest firmware update (5.8.0 as of July) with a usb stick it works great, and now has 3 levels of bass that you can adjust to (dynamic bass, flat, bass cut)! Bass cut mode is great b/c we have to have speakers close to the wall, but fun to have the other bass settings as well. See this thread for more info: https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/196408-the-fives-usb-drivers-bass-cut-mode-in-new-software-575/page/2/
And for firmware update: https://www.klipsch.com/firmware?product=115490&serial=
Also sounds like there should be EQ adjustment capability added to the Klipsch Connect app soon…
Simple, versatile, and amazing to listen to. I bought these for my hone office, after seeing a review of them on YouTube (Andrew Robinson). I was so impressed that I went out and replaced my living room setup with Heresy IV, and had to buy another set of the Fives for a buddy of mine as a gift. It’s crazy but I think I prefer the Fives to my living room setup. I only wish Klipsch would make “the Eights” or hell, “the Twelves” Ha!
Out of the box, 3 stars. Maybe I need to work on configurations, but right now the highs are drowned out via HDMI or optical via TV, or Bluetooth. I was hoping to not need sound bar add, but we shall see. Otherwise, EVERYTHING else is superb.
OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE!! I am impressed beyond words, I got rid of my Samsung surround sound system because I heard a lot about the FIVES! Death of the sound bar!!! I will NOT go back. Also NO Subwoofer required. Trust me if you are on the fence, don't be! The FIVES delivers on it's promise to WOW you upon arrival.
I would recommend this to a friend!

After 12 years, my AudioEngine 5s gave out. While looking at AudioEngine comparison articles Klipsch 'The Fives' were suggested. Since shifting to flac audio sources, I decided quality speakers were an important consideration. The clarity, space and depth of 'The Fives' revealed "new" elements in music I'd listened to many times before. It was like hearing some songs for the very first time. The bass is powerful and clean. Perhaps a bit much for my neighbors. ;-) I might need to move to fully enjoy these babies! The various connection options are also a major upgrade from my old speakers. 'The Fives' have been a brilliant reminder of the wisdom in the cliche "you get what you pay for". These speakers are worth every cent. I'll be coveting them for many years to come.
Excellent speakers, sounds organic, clear and detailed. Perfect to stream audio or to connect to your turntable with the analog terminals it sounds bold and you fills like in a recording studio or small concert. Excellent materials, you can feel the wood texture and the real wood smells so good. I'm extremely happy with this monitors.
