Weak results

I wanted to love this product. Unfortunately, my plants have always been long and spindly instead of lush and healthy as advertised. First time only basil yielded. Second round two of three salad pods did well. Really disappointing. Customer service did replace as requested. My systems is just limping along.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Students love watching plants grow!

I bought one of the earlier Harvest models during the summer and loved it so much I took it to my classroom and bought a second to keep at home. I grow herbs and vegetables at home and flowers at school. My students (6-7 grade) love to come in and see the plants growing, and having live plants in the classroom has added a nice tough to this schoolyear. Several of my co-workers have ordered units for their homes as well. I absolutely recommend Aerogarden!

Plants grow (and become a mess) very fast

On the bright side, even with little care, plants grow extremely fast. One pod did not germinate, but they sent me a new one after I emailed them. And the pods are reasonably priced, so I ended up just buying a bunch of extra ones, just in case some did not germinate.
On the dark side, I feel like this Aerogarden isn't suitable for all the plants. The plants (like mint and dill, from my experience) outgrow the Aerogarden very fast. I wish the lights can go higher than 12". If I cut the top of the plants, they'd branch out to the side in just a few days. And the roots, they're the worst! They'd form a hot mess in the container (roots from several plant will combine into a giant mass that fills up the tank). These plants probably need to be transplanted into a pot within 1-2 months. Short plants like parsley don't work well for me either. Each seed germinate into a tiny plant with a few leaves, which is too little to use for anything in cooking.
But overall, I'm happy with the product given that it doesn't require much effort to take care of it at all.

Good For One Round Only

I had this gifted to me during Christmas of 2020. The planter was phenomenal until I tried to switch out my plants. After unplugging it to clean it, only half the lights would turn back on. Customer service was able to send me a new garden, but the new garden has done the same exact thing. After 2 years, I've only been able to grow one round of plants for each system. Great short term product but don't buy if you want to have plants more than a few months.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I got to start a new garden within a couple of months because the petunias grew so fast and starting blooming, that they were bursting at the seams and covered up the one tomato plant that I put in there with them. I've transplanted the petunias into the garden and they're gorgeous. Now that I've moved the petunias, the tomatoes are going nuts!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I can not wait for my herbs to grow! I have already begun to think of the many recipes I will try to use my gourmet herbs. I am completely in awe. The light is so bright that it lights up my whole house. If I turn every light off and stand I front of my house I can see the light. I put it in the den until my plants sprouts so I hope it doesn’t bother the neighbors. It was really easy to put together and that was my favorite part. I love my aero garden!

Easy to use, amazingly fast!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Got this a couple of weeks ago. I've wanted one FOREVER and was so happy, but didn't let my hopes get the best of me - I can't keep plants alive. At all. Ever. Easy set up with easy instructions and it was done and working its magic in 10 minutes. So imagine my excitement when just a few days later I had a sprout! Then another. Then another! While I thoroughly believe my morning affirmations to the little sprouts work, it's probably the awesome design and ease of use. It tells you when it needs water or nutrients (liquid, in a bottle). It's silent, except for a barely audible trickle sound every hour. You will not regret this purchase!

A present from hubby at Xmas. Set up around Mid Feb. Enjoyed watching the progress of plant pods.
Mint has struggled. Tai basil is licorice like in taste. Dill is a powerhouse. Basil is steady. And parsley is leggy. Maybe should of pruned more in beginning. Instructions on care that would help. Tai has flowers now.
