Unlike the previous review, I don't find these bright at all. It has a soft dome tweeter, and I power these with an Arcam 100 watt power amp, which is said to be on the warm side. Obviously, you need decent components with quality cables throughout (audio and power) for these speakers to shine, which is a testament to their accuracy - low-fi gear or source signal will result in poor sound. I have them mounted on spikes, bass is tight and deep (no subwoofer required). Mids and highs are clear and balanced (again, clean hi-res source signal and top electronics is key).
The only aesthetic detractor is the grills are pegged, not magnetized. On sale these are a bargain.
