I bought the refurbished version of this speaker, after having lost a brand new one. It works just as well for now (received it 2 weeks ago).
I would totally recommend buying a refurbished one to same some money and some natural resources!
It is a big problem that it does not connect with JBL Charge 4 though, while the JBL FLIP 3 could... I don't like this policy of obsolescence.

Happy With My Purchase

Great sound quality. I like a lot of bass, and this handles it pretty well. I've had to turn the bass down on a few songs (very few), but am still impressed. It doesn't take up much space, is inexpensive and is available in tons of colors (and you can customize it with personal photos). I love it!

Great speaker now with the option to personalize

This is actually my second Flip 5; I got this because JBL now gives you the option to personalize several of their lines. This will be a gift (as was the first one) and I know it will be a hit. I already own several JBL BT speakers, from the Charge 2+ to the Xtreme. I've also given several of these speakers and every recipient has been thoroughly impressed! With the holidays around the corner, I think I'll get some more as gifts.

Love the new flip 5. It's sound is clear and really great bass for the size. Also sounds better with two linked together in stereo.

The only thing I dont like is the instruction manuel print way to small. I couldn't even read the booklet with my glasses.

I just got this 1 week ago, it won’t charge whatsoever. With the original charger, other chargers, nothing works. I’m very disappointed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
