I bought two Flip5s to use as a sound system for our remodeled kitchen. They have great sound at any volume and cover the space very well. I am very happy with my purchase and recommend the Flip5 to anyone!
First and foremost great sound quality - very light and portable - easy sync with I-phone through bluetooth - going to buy second unit for stereo - bought direct through company web-site and saved 8% sales tax
I love the USB-C charging it charges very fast. The sound is better than the FLIP 4 but it takes a fine tuned ear to hear the difference. I do wish y’all upgraded to Bluetooth 5.0. The features y’all took out like calling and using Siri through speaker are not a big deal to me since I didn’t use them anyway. The speaker being longer and heavier is not really noticeable. Overall I love the speaker. I do wish y’all would add color lights to the speaker for special effects.
Bought the flip 5 last week. I will be returning it as the battery did not even last a full round of golf (5hrs) at max volume.

We appreciate your feedback about our JBL Flip 5. Our speakers' playtime would vary depending on the volume you're playing the music. The suggested '12 hours' is just an average of how long the speaker can go on, knowing that it is played at mid-volume. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Received this speaker late and wanted some time to really assess its features...i should have known what to expect as I have several other portable Bluetooth speakers from JBL. The Flip5 is a solid a performer for its size..surprisingly solid bass and good volume as expected. Battery life is also very good lasting several hours ( I had to recharge after 10 hours of pretty loud playing) and charges quickly. Comes in a variety of colors and fits easily in a bookbag. My favorite use is taking it to the beach or having it next to me by the pool.. I haven't had the nerve to dunk it but it's x supposedly waterproof up to 3ft. I can say that splashes had no effect and would have probably ruined a regular speaker...overall, very pleased!
What is going on with all those different versions

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] 1st thing: I received this from JBL complimentary BUT I am eager to review it. That said, I would enthusiastically order it at full price! Easy to connect, holds a charge and OMG the sound! It has a great bass based sound...so much better than most speakers NOT named JBL. If you've heard any other JBL speakers (I have the Jembe attached to a PC) you know what I mean. This is a heavy speaker, and I mean by weight. That's the only way to get a full sound, IMHO, there are no shortcuts to a pounding bass. There are buttons to adjust the volume, and to pair via Bluetooth, but no ability to directly connect. Charged it once, and it's still going 3 weeks later. It's water-resistant...or as they say "Water Proof".... not sure I'd drop it in the Ocean, or a pool for an hour, but it appears to be just fine for use in watery areas - like your shower or the pool. The sound will easily overwhelm your shower, and will easily fill a household (or condo) pool area. There's also a means to link more than one speaker (got some friends???) to fill a larger area. It's called Party Boost, and that also seems enhances the bass in my experience. Don't know how it handles that, but there's an app to download. I was able to connect to my phone, stream an app, walk around the condo (1200 sq ft) and it didn't drop out at all. I also used it in my car - better sound than the same station on the radio...
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I did like the size as I was able to slide the Flip 5 in my bike’s water bottle holder. I was disappointed in the sound at loud volume. I also had connection issues at times. I own several JBL boxes, a Flip 2, Charge 3 and Boom Box and they all sound awesome. This new Flip 5 not so much. Maybe a bad unit?
