Noise and function

Despite the claim that this dehumidifier is silent, it is actually very noisy (too noisy to keep it on in a bedroom when trying to sleep). It has a very small container so one can empty several containers per day. It shuts on and off which may be a natural function but which doesn't appear to have a logical function. The description says it covers up to 1500 sq ft. However, if you have any walls in your home, it will not reach through the walls and will only do a small portion of your home. You then need to move it to the next area, and then the next (etc.). And finally, it is supposed to allow you to hook a hose to it for continual running, but...unless you put the unit high up in the air so that the hose runs downward into a drain of some sort, the hose is useless.
I do not recommend this unit. While it pulls water from the air, there are too many things wrong with it to offset any positives.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
